I can’t believe how bad this is. I didn’t have high expectations to begin with, but this is a really bad album. It’s too long, there’s no theme or narrative connecting the songs, the album has very little substance, and there’s no sense of space. There are a few good songs on here: “Elevate,” “Emotionless,” “8 Out of 10,” “Mob Ties,” Sandra’s Rose,” “Peak,” “Jaded,” “Nice for What,” and “In My Feelings” but there’s nothing holding this album together. It’s as if Drake forgot how to structure a coherent project after If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, which was his last good project. I’m not a big fan of Views, but Views is better than Scorpion.

Drake sounds so defeated and stale. He truly sounds like he hates making music now. Even the few great songs that this record does possess don’t exactly stand out. They don’t feel new or creatively exciting. Can anybody honestly say there’s a single song on Scorpion that’s as experimental or different as “Keep the Family Close” or “One Dance?” I’m lost for words regarding this album. This is the biggest disappointment of the year. At least Drake has Take Care, Nothing Was the Same, and If Youre Reading This to his name because his last three projects have been terrible. He has definitely fallen off. He is finished. I don’t know if it was the beef, his life, or maybe a combination of both but this man simply doesn’t have it anymore.

exactly. I know these past days I am coming off as a huge, bitter Drake hater.. but the man really is a piece of s---, I dont know how can u be a rap fan and let slide his s--- behavior for that long. Plus he is just not good anymore. He keeps rapping and rambling about the same stuff over and over again.

It really feels like he is tired of music since views. The last song i felt he was being real is jorja interlude.

Side A is alright, but it’s still lacking that energy like he had on IYRTITL. Elevate, mob ties (even tho he stole thug’s flow), talk up, nice for what, and blue tint the only good songs. The rest are all stoppable. Side b is a complete snooze fest

drake really can rap tho. Remember when people used to say he was a bad-average rapper but made good music? I legit think he's a really good rapper. The flow on Can't Take A Joke and the way he's bending some words to rhyme is really f---ing cool.

I can't even listen to side B. His sing songy streak doesn't compel me at all.

Side A is cool enough. Better than Views or More Life or NWTS at least. Still a tier or two below IYRT. Hasn't raised my estimation of Drake's album making ability at all. At least he put most of the s--- I don't wanna hear on its own disk though. I like the consistency. Idk which tracks are the bombs that he usually drops though. Nonstop because of that Tay Keith beat probably. Emotionless is also very dense in regards to parsing Drake's intentions and current state of mind.

I like the intro but it's definitely not near the top of my A side favorites. Of everything on A side I think Elevate has grown on me the most so far, his range on that song is amazing. Can't really say I've heard a song like that from him before. Emotionless is probably the best song on A, and you could make a strong argument it's the best on the entire project.

one thing to credit, if nothing else: its got one of the best michael jackson remixes ive heard in a bit. and, given weeknd or whatever, sounds v contemporary.

the fact drake has one or two frivolous verses doesnt 'matter to me' all that much
