I strung together the relevant parts of the verse that I was critiquing. I'm fine advocating for more inclusive history curriculum. I don't think the way to fix that is a libertarian overhaul of how taxes work.

An overhaul definitely isn't the way to go, but it's gotta start somewhere. Government spending has already spiraled out of control and I don't see it getting any better.

Okay, but letting millionaires dictate public policy definitely isn't a better solution. They pretty much already can in a lot of ways, Bill Gates single handedly dictated a lot of education overhaul by dangling money in front of starving districts, which is why Cole's mischaracterization that tax dollars are going to too many white teachers is f---ing stupid.

I don't think it he meant to stereotype by that bar, he's just saying that the people he knows or came up with were all manipulated or influenced by white teachers. I mean, I'm black and I didn't have any black teachers in high school. Who knows what what i would of thought or learnt. Those are perspectives I'll never get the chance of having at a young age.

My issue is the lack of novelty, he's like a children's textbook edition of "everyday man raps" like Little Brother & Early Kanye. It's fine, it's what gathered a lot of casual listeners (I was a big one since I hoped he'd evolve further) but he's been at an average medium of whether he can't pull off the strongest points of what Kenny or Drake bring to the table.

Tldr--he's not offensively bad but neither something impressive, I just let him be.

You do know white teachers don't dictate curriculum, right? They have almost no power over their lesson plans. They don't write the textbooks. To attacks teachers at all who generally don't receive enough credit is dumb. You can say you want more representative instructors much more elegantly. That's not even the problem I have. It's the way he goes about saying that the rich should dictate how their ill gotten gains are spent. You're relying on the benevolent capitalist. It's terrible.

Libertarians are typically against all taxes. Cole wants his taxes to go towards other s--- than what they currently go to. So he is not pleased with the current corporatism we have going on right now. And he points out the white washing of history. Schools down south are still teaching that slavery was a “states rights” issue. @Charlie Work

Also Cole points out he is against politicians who take NRA gun $. Libertarians are in favor of money in politics for everything. It’s anarchy and greed they’re okay with.

Cole sounds like he wants politicians to be cleaner so they’re more honest and actually represent the people.

You’ve misrepresented what he’s saying in the verse.

I get most curriculums are dictated by state requirements, but I assure you these teachers aren't teaching word for word of what They re suppose to teach.

I was trying to say that though. It was a matter of representation to me, and I think for Cole too.

Libertarians are against the government dictating where their money goes, and dream of a voluntary system where they can parse out their money as they see fit. Cole's dream isn't technically libertarian, but it scratches the same itch.

I haven't misinterpreted anything. He clearly advocates for the right of the rich to dictate public policy. That's the entire critique I've made. Are his intentions agreeable in some light? Sure, but the system he advocates would rely on greedy b------s all having agreeable views. Instead of, ya know, a government that actually appeals to its constituency and spends public funds to benefit the public.

I treat Cole like a currensy or an artist like that. I know what to expect most of the time from them. I'm not expecting Kanye level types of music evolutions.

Teachers are literally slaves to state mandated curriculum. They don't have the time or resources to construct their own person lesson plans. Besides, advocating for reform from the top down ie textbooks and curriculum makes a lot more sense than chiding a specific race of teachers. Again, you can easily advocate for the good things Cole wants without all the dumb s--- he wants. It's not hard. Idk why you're going to bat for a terrible idea just because your mans came up with it.
