I was looking at Cardi B's wiki for some reason and stumbled upon one of her influences.

I'm Mexican so I grew up listening to a lot of regional music in the household, growing up in NY the reggaeton music was a huge part of the soundscape we had; I'm sort of a dusthead when it comes to it since I'm not too huge on the new stuff but the mid-2000s stuff is nostalgic. Here's a playlist for those that want to see how reggaeton evolved into the beast it is today

If you're asking what's my favorite hispanic song oat, easily this Santana classic from my fellow countrymen of Jalisco

yeah he is one of the most serious artists of the genre in Spain, from Granada.
Artists from south America are way more known and get more radio play but from Spain there are so many too actually, I can post more if people are interested

I was into Reggaeton from like 2003-2008 (Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, Don Omar, Ivy Queen, Voltio, Notch, Zion y Lennox, Tego Calderon, Wisin y Yandel, Luny Tunes, Hector El Father, Tito El Bambino, Rakim y Ken-Y). That's considered Old School by today's standards. It's interesting to see how good the genre is doing today compared to back then when a lot of people wrote it off as a repetitive fad. My father also used to play a lot of General back in the day, who was the forefather of Reggaeton.

And of course, growing up Dominican in NYC, I grew up listening to a lot of Merengue, Salsa and Bachata. Anthony Santos, Johnny Ventura, Joseito Mateo (a DR legend who recently passed away), Aventura, Kinito Mendez, Fernando Villalona, Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Los Hermanos Rosario, Johnny Pacheco, Celia Cruz, etc.

Sounds ok. I never got into Shakira or the Colombian Reggaeton artists, those guys started making noise years later. I know Nicky Jam was one of the earliest Reggaeton artists to embrace Colombia and he lived there too. He used to redo Juanes songs. This song does have a vintage Reggaeton beat, almost sounds like a Sister Nancy sample.
