I hope so. Tech N9ne and Eminem are both so crisp in the way they spit their bars. Even when they spit fast

Idk how anyone can label 69 a mumble rapper. He gives me vibes of mid 2000’s music at times. The hottest and most hungry artist in the game atm imo. Drake still the biggest overall.

Kanye mumbles numerous tunes throughout his albums. Wouldn’t call him mumble rap tho.

"mumble rap" is a meaningless term that gets used to s--- on newer artists no matter what kind of performance they give. the only rappers i can honestly say have some enunciation difficulties are young thug and future, but even then their deliveries clearly aren't mumbling and there's a lot of energy to what they do most of the time.

Puts blame on the artist for the listeners failure, has racist origins/connotations, emphatically is not a thing that exists

    That’s why

Mumble rap is a dumb term. But imo trap is dying from oversaturation and lack of innovation, only a matter of time before mainstream phases it out. I cant do the sound and style anymore and I really f----- with it for a while.

Umm what? How is it someone's 'fault' for not understanding the words of an artist? I mean its also not the artist fault of course don't get me wrong.. but if u cant understand certain accents and it sounds mumbling to you (which is why -some- probably call it that) its not really meant offensive.

Sure, like I discussed w BC before there are pple that do mean it in a racist or offensive way but for a lot its just a way of saying I habe no clue what words he says.

Overall it’s just an ignorant term though. Even if you genuinely can’t understand what they’re saying, it’s well-known that “mumble rap” has a negative connotation. On a side note, I find it hilarious how the crowd who uses this term the most are the same people who love when Eminem does that double/triple-flow garbage as if they don’t have rap genius open to catch everything lmao.

poor delivery is not the listeners fault
except that no it doesn't, and never did, except when people who hate the term try to project this on it as a way to discredit it, like you're doing now
you guys can keep saying this, it doesn't make it so

That last part is for sure true lmao like how AMAZING is it when tech n9ne and emimen rap their a--- off. Who cares if u have no idea what they say!!! :'(

And yeah the origin of the MR term is absolutely negative its just that its just used now as a word to say 'I don't understand their words' and people are overreacting the real negative meaning of it by the majority imo.

@Cyreides I wouldn't call having an accent it "poor delivery" tbh but its also not the listeners 'fault' for not getting it. And so if someone says I don't understand it, sounds like he's mumbling I can kinda understand that and I don't immediately think he means it in a mean or racist way

Ehhh... I don’t know about that. People like Charlemagne like to say s--- like this & claim they don’t mean it in a deragatory way but he def does lol. Joe Budden use to do it too but he’s gotten better. He’s been called out on it multiple times.
