a. he demonstrably is not; he's obviously replacement-level at best
b. post malone would jump out of his shoes to tell you that he's not a rapper, all while getting rich off of rap and its aesthetics and undermining it as a medium at every turnFlacko, eddie, Ordinary Joel and 8 others like this. -

“As if things couldn’t get any worse, Post Malone posed a question to the crowd: “Do you guys mind if I play my guitar for you?” he asked rhetorically, smoking a cigarette, sitting down for the part of the show where you are supposed to believe that he’s an artiste because he can competently strum an instrument.”

No, I get all that, but there are moments in the article where he points specifically to stuff like sexist lyrics that would never be sticking points when it comes to guys like Boosie or Future. Ever. -

So if Post Malone had the H&M deal and backed out, all musical sins would be forgiven? My point is, you could find & replace "Post Malone" for "G-Eazy" and this article would still make sense.
If Post Malone didn't exist, this article would have still been written about the next non-deserving popular artist
Post is barely 23 and has been known worldwide since he was 20. Why such high expectations? I don't understand the point of this article other than "Post Malone is white and makes EXTREMELY POPULAR meaningless pop rap, f--- him!" -

...for dropping out of an ad campaign
also, while g-eazy's music is...you know...bad, he's a bay kid who's obsessed with bay rap and puts on for it every chance he gets. post has the exact opposite attitude toward hip-hop.DKC, shadyslim555, Enigma and 2 others like this. -

Article reads kinda awkward and forced (especially the beginning) imo. Probably because Post Malone is an easy target, as some of you said.
Btw I don't know where that worldwide popularity comes from. I'm french and I never heard his trash a--- music hereMeero, Michael Myers and Mraczewsky like this. -

Quite a drubbing, but what an incredibly soft target to go in on.
Guys like Weiss will call balls and strikes on posers, but as we see in the article can't take off the rose tinted glasses for guys like Future who have plenty of problematic qualities.Zeugma, Dread or Alive and JFK like this.
