Nov 8, 2018What do we even say at this point? Trump will send out a tweet talking about how sad it is, then nothing will change and next week we'll have another shooting.
On a (slightly) positive note I heard the NRA had an awful election day, plenty of candidates they supported lost so maybe there's some hope in the future.

Imagine blaming the gun and not the military that trained this man to k---, broke his mental health into a million pieces, and then dumped him back into the public. -

You know how all the gun supporters are like “criminals/gangs/drug traffickers don’t obey the law anyway they’ll still have guns” ?
Well like, when’s the last time gangs or drug traffickers shot up a school or whatnot? Pretty much none of the school shooters or mass shooters in general were hardcore criminals or gun/drug pushers. They were regular citizens hardly known to police until they shot up a place.
Even in the strictest gun law countries the criminals and outlaws still have guns obviously, but they aren’t the ones shooting up schools or shopping malls. In terms of mass shootings, it’s not the gangs or organised crime syndicate you need to worry about. It’s the average joe with easy access to semi auto firearms who’s the real danger
Also for home defence, you don’t need an AR or AK or whatever. Why the h--- would you pull out a huge 30-50 round machine gun if you hear a suspicious noise in your apartment? You’ll blow your apartment to pieces and k--- your cat, the neighbors’s kid sleeping next door and probably yourself. A basic a--- revolver or classic double barrel shotgun are much more useful in home invasion situationsRVD, Lucy, Rodamon and 1 other person like this. -

the important correlative thing when it comes to gun crimes is the number of guns in a country.
the ways you reduce the number of guns in a country are through stricter laws, aggressive buy-back programs, and exhaustive registries.
this is very difficult but not particularly complicated.pluto✰, Enigma, Kon and 1 other person like this. -

Honestly it’ll never happen but imagine how much safer this country would be if they required all citizens to give up their guns within a year. Anyone outside of police and military caught with one after that year, it’s an automatic felony. Create a buy back program so they get something in return.
But I know that’s a little extreme, so how bout everyone gives up anything bigger than a handgun, cuz if ‘self defense’ or ‘protection’ is the only reason people need it then surely you don’t need an AK47, AR15, sniper rifle etc. I think even a lot of pro gun people would agree with this.
Nice to dream but yeah obviously nothing like that will happen in our lifetimes. It’d be nice to at least make some progress though.asvdawg, 6ix9ineWithThe9 and rapmusik like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -
