LOL at people calling WTT a classic. It would have been a classic if it was a solo Kanye project but Jay fell off after AG.
Nobody is talking about WTT the way they talk about Stankonia or Liquid Swords so please stop with the nonsense.

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like WTT has had a weird trajectory in terms of its reception—I remember people initially being disappointed with it, then coming around to love it, and then some people started retroactively talking about how it was never good when the decade-in-reviews started going around.

Personally? I never had any doubts about its greatness. It's Kanye's post-MBDTF victory lap with his mentor and the greatest rapper of all time, and Jay-Z showing he still has it after the lukewarm reception to Blueprint III. The only thing that really dates it to me is "Who Gon Stop Me?" for obvious reasons. I never understood why "Lift Off" got so much hate—it's far from my favorite on the album but I enjoy it.

I'm so happy this album came out when it did in my lifetime. It ruled the second half of the summer between my sophomore and junior years of college + well into the school year. Couldn't go out without hearing NIP and Rack City that year.

    8.5/10

I haven't listened to WTT in ages, but I certainly played the s--- out of it. I'll need to revisit soon, but I'm gonna go w/ a 8/10.

@Big Cuntry how can u not get the hate for Lift Off? In its current state its still like a 7/10 because of Beyoncé and the production but wtf were Jay and Kanye doing? That was real mumble rap right there. If they had proper verses it would have been a 9/10 or even 10/10 as well.

(Kinda exactly how I feel about most of TLOP but that's another story.)

Still, its nitpicking, same w the MIA hook, we didn't know then that all of Kanye's music was gonna be sweet baby jesus in 2019 lol.

Who gon stop me was a little lame maybe but I like that they experienced w it and I kinda like it.

    8/10

i can’t imagine giving this a 10 honestly. it’s consistently great throught, with a few duds throught. collaboration wise, it’s one of the best of the 10’s, if not the best out of all of them.

What do you mean? They each have like a four bar verse lol. I love kanye's sing-songy parts. They're not even on it enough to ruin the song even if it really was that bad...they're inoffensive and mediocre at worst. What's so horrible about it?

Again, another album that I haven't revisited in a long while. Though it's triumphant and all, it's not quite at the upper echelon of either of their discographies. Definitely a monumental moment of the 10's.

    Leaning towards a 7.5/10

To me that's exactly the point; they both only have a 4 bar verse. They are almost non existent on an album that is mostly both of them flexing.

You are literally saying what I mean here. I said that in its current state I think it's 7/10.. so still a good song. But 4 bars of bs (fair enough Kanye had a little more, especially Jay was lame) on a song when they were both on fire on this album is such a shame imo.
