Jan 8, 2020 I just tried listening to some songs from lasers and I retract my statement that I would rather listen to lasers
Jan 8, 2020 It's more fun to see divided opinions, more interesting discussion comes out like in this case. Of course when it gets out of hand, that's where we do have to draw the line, which is where I'm curious if you guys pick an Em album next (please do!)
Jan 9, 2020 Well he dropped 4 studio albums in the 10's and no matter how some people on here feel about him (myself included to an extent) he's one of the biggest and most popular artists whenever he drops something. So I see no reason to leave him out.
Jan 9, 2020 woah, surprised at the negative reaction. Definitely an overrated album (and that GarageBand loop on Prisoner 1 & 2 is too much lol) but I always thought this was a great return to form for Lupe afterLasers. Mural is astounding, its a f---in masterpiece. There are very few others who can make a song like that. and there are some really cool concepts littered throughout the tracklist (Deliver being a prime example). Lupe's an insanely gifted writer and even though he does have his head up his a--- sometimes I thought T&Y came together really well for the most part. Its not F&L or The Cool but its comfortably 3rd place in his discog. 7.5/10.
Jan 9, 2020 I know I have listened to this album. I haven't checked it out after few listens but I don't even remember a thing about the album besides its' name lol. So I'm listenin' to it now to see how I feel about it... Well, Mural is kinda beatiful and impressive but at some point I was like this is like Em's Shady CXVYPHER of Eminem lol. Sound like he just made long a--- verses and then, put them back to back without hooks and put a beat behind them. Dots & Lines was really great. It was unique and beautiful. Wow! I must have listened to this s--- when I'm working on some project or something. Because the fact that I don't remember this is really weird. This s--- is really great. Halfway through the album and I'm lovin' it. Ok. Final rating. Album was pretty good. It had creative concepts. Sonically it was pleasing but not really something that would have replay value at all. I'd give it a 8/10
Jan 9, 2020 the fact that MKL is currently the best rated album by y'all is heartening mkl >>>>>>> daytona > tpab > honest >>>>>>>> wtt >>>>>>>>> tetsuo & youth imo
Jan 11, 2020 the controversial Tetsuo & Youth by Lupe Fiasco gets a 6.7/10 from 14 ratings And on our next episode... "my daddy taught how to drink my pain away" Chattanooga mc Isaiah Rashad popped up out of nowhere in early 2014, following on the heels of a series of highly acclaimed albums from the TDE camp and did absolutely not disappoint. Billed as a mixtape/EP, Cilvia Demo sees Isaiah adopting the soulful, smooth flows and rhythms, lyrically dense and deeply personal content that Kendrick and TDE had poured into their own work in the previous few years. But he's also clearly from the South and wears his Webbie and Outkast influences on his sleeve. This album sounds like you're out on a deserted country farm, thinking about life while sippin on the henny, looking out morosely into the horizon. TDE guest features from SZA, Kendrick, Jay Rock and Q add that little bit of extra tension that keeps you from spiralling forever into the beautiful distorted haze. 9.5/10
Jan 11, 2020 Oh f--- I love this project. I dunno I really cant find any negatives to this album, amazing era for tde too. This is definitely in their top 5 releases. The whole vibe, lyrics, flows, aesthetics of that album are still amazing to me. 9.5/10
