Nov 21, 2018 Smart businessman = finding something that can make u a shitload of money and doing that right. Other than that they can be idiots, where a professor or what u mean is intelligent overall. In dutch there is a better word for what I mean lol
Nov 21, 2018 he is doing a lot of great work for now but don't be surprised if he ends up being a super villain and tries to dominate the world next
Nov 21, 2018 Blowing up fireworks and planning to send rich people to Mars to escape the climate crisis they themselves wrought? Running a failing car company that uses electricity generated from coal and natural gas instead of gasoline? Doing LSD and committing stock fraud via Twitter? Drilling holes for maglevs that transport rich people?
Nov 21, 2018 1.) standard business: it's going to be ridiculously expensive before it can get cheap. 2.) are you placing the onus of the climate crisis on the guy who is advocating green energy & sustaining life? 3.) his goal is obviously to get off of coal and natural gas... tell me you know that 4.) wtf does LSD have to do with his wealth? ...you also forgot: creating solar city to get people off natural resources, using his position to try and push the paris agreement & guide the government into recognizing the climate crisis, starting neuralink to help the impaired, trying to regulate the development of AI so that it doesn't k--- us all ..
Nov 21, 2018 1) Thinking escaping earth's atmosphere will ever be practical for any significant amount of people is silly and incentivizes the capital driven destruction of our environment that will k--- millions. 2) "Advocating" (?) for green energy "& sustaining life* (?) isn't worth anything when you own a car company, a rocket company, and a drilling company. Electricity at that scale will never be green. Individual transportation isn't green. He wants to drill tunnels for cars for rich people to drive to the office so they don't have interact with the lowly masses or be inconvenienced by traffic. A more practical idea, which most similarly industrialized countries actually use, is high speed rail. A man who owns a car company will never answer the needs of public, mass, green transportation. 3) Well as long as he wishes for it
Nov 21, 2018 I agree he's doing some cool stuff that has the possibility of helping humanity but I'm not entirely convinced it's all for good/will be for good. It's hard for me to believe anyone who suppresses unions is more concerned about the good of humanity than they are about money. he also gets circle jerked to the max because he's "le science man"
Nov 21, 2018 Not to mention Elon Musk made the majority of his fortune through Pay Pal, a notoriously awful business, not pretending he's Tony Stark.
Nov 21, 2018 lol you would know what to do with yourself real quick. I remember when I bartended and when I got my first job making 45K I thought that was a lot, and couldn't imagine making over 60K. Then I made over 60K and couldn't imagine what it would like making more than 75K, and so on and so on. The more money you make the more you upgrade your life. You want a better car, a better place, you have more bills...6 figures isn't a lot. I would imagine being a millionaire I would feel the same exact way at some point where it wasn't enough
