Feb 2, 2020 You don’t grasp how much working class people are hurting, @Papa Alpha Andy. 500,000 people go bankrupt every year from medical bills. Good paying jobs have been outsourced for 30 years. Wages haven’t caught up to inflation. Obama didn’t fight hard enough to help people like FDR did. He didn’t use his bully pulpit. He didn’t try to change the system like he promised. He sold out. Put elitist bankers in his cabinet. People who voted for him twice in the rust belt flipped to Trump because of his populist rhetoric and how he called out elites like Hillary, Obama and Pelosi who failed to fight for workers. Sanders speaks to the frustrated, angry working class. People who are passionate about not wanting to go bankrupt from medical bills aren’t going to just sit quietly. This is about life or death. Whining because some of his supporters are mean online isn’t the same as racist, violent Trumpers. Look up clips of Bernie rallies compared to Trump rallies. One is about fighting for healthcare and embracing diversity and one will bring up kicking the s--- out of protestors and ranting negatively about Muslims. I wish Bernie was tougher against Biden like his supporters are. This is a primary. Gloves are supposed to be off. Call out the dog s--- policies of Biden and back it up with facts. I don’t like how Biden says we can do anything...except Medicare for all, free college, ending the wars...is that toxic, divisive and mean for me to stick up for a candidate that wants policies that help people? Biden isn’t a champion of the working class. He’s a fraud who labeled himself middle class Joe but he actually caters to his corporate donors. That’s a fact. Call it divisive and toxic if you want lol
Feb 2, 2020 And the whole “you don’t know how things work” and “being too pure and ideological isn’t how to get things done” has been the motto of the loser Democratic Party for years. People are sick of being treated like they have no voice and they have to shut up and show support to losers like Pelosi and Schumer. f--- that. That turns so many people away from politics. I’m done with those types of candidates. They don’t fight for me. We want politicians who will fight for policies that help us. We know every policy won’t get implemented how we want...but at least we’ll have someone in there we can truly trust to have our backs.
Feb 2, 2020 Yes I do lol. Not rly lol. I think conflating huge portions of the electorate and their comfort level - yes including and specifically working class ppl - with someone ineffectual like Chuck Schumer is simply where we differ. I’ve made my arguments based on actual numbers not anecdotal tweets or YouTubing clips of Bernie rallies lol. These are ppl I talk to every day ffs. It’s not hypothetical or anecdotal.
Feb 2, 2020 Joe rogan and his cronies support Bernie ffs. Do you follow this stuff lol The rest of your post is semantics. You don’t want to believe Bernie has some bully tendencies - and perhaps that’s why he’s been a lone wolf for decades and when it came time to actually Doing Something - fine. I can’t force you lol. I’m just here to point out the flagrant inaccuracies and mistruths. Ftr trump and his lot are obviously worse there’s no question. And if the time came I’d certainly vote for bernie (a scenario, w roles reversed, I suspect many Bros would follow through on) - just highly doubt he’d win. And that’s what is at stake /
Feb 2, 2020 If you don’t think Bernie would win then that’s totally fair, I understand that reservation. I’d certainly vote for Biden, Warren, even mayor Pete lol. Like I’m not trying to attack you I’m just trying to understand where you come from and explain where I come from. I understand why you would be turned off by being accused of being immoral for being a Biden supporter, but at the same time, can you not see why it’s frustrating to be accused of being an idiot or not understanding how the world works just because I’m a supporter of Sanders? I know Joe Rogan endorsed him and that brings a lot of shitheads with him but tbh I think joe is more of just a straight idiot than he is personally political lol. Which of course putting Alex Jones or Andrew Yang on your show is inherently political even if the host doesn’t think or care about the implications...but Joe comes across to me more as just an Extremely Regular Dude For Extremely Regular Dudes. But then again I’ve never been able to make it through a whole episode of his show so I might be wrong. I read this awhile back which I thought was interesting: https://amp.theatlantic.com/amp/article/594802/
Feb 2, 2020 What troubles me is you are - I think - kind of in the minority as a bernie supporter here. Like, since there’s such a cult of personality around the guy, it’s like a zero sum game for his base. If Bernie doesn’t become the nominee it’s bc the “system” is unfair, they’ll stay home and help trump win re-election. That framing is v frustrating.
Feb 2, 2020 Ya that I do not get. I remember even in 2016 at the WA caucus there was a dude at my table claiming he wouldn’t vote if Bernie wasn’t the nominee. I think for the majority of people that’s an empty threat but there are definitely a small group of people out there who will refuse to vote if he’s not the nominee. And yeah I get the temptation to try to stick it to the DNC or whatever but I’m not enough of a nihilist to believe we’re completely f----- if anyone else is elected. At the end of the day anyone in the running will be far better than Trump lol
Feb 2, 2020 do you not think the applicable "systems" here –– the dnc, most popular news organizations, other high-profile democrats –– are, in fact, disproportionately anti-sanders? skepticism is sometimes justified lol, especially when there's plenty of uncontested evidence to that effect
Feb 2, 2020 Not really. Or if they are, it’s not nefarious. And pls the media loves propping up this insurgent slant angle. You know better. Bernie has all this celeb cache he’s got bon iver peddling for him lls
Feb 3, 2020 Why do you support Biden then? He’s in the Schumer and Pelosi camp. Status quo defenders There are 500,000 anecdotes every year of people going bankrupt from medical bills. What would Biden and his style of politics do to help fix this issue? Not a thing.
Feb 3, 2020 This s--- is divisive and toxic An elitist basically telling people to shut up and support centrist plans
Feb 3, 2020 if warren doesn’t win Iowa (or at least come in second place) she’d be smart to just drop out & endorse Sanders if she really wants progressive candidate in the general election.
Feb 3, 2020 @Big Cuntry its starting.... exactly what I was telling you earlier that I worry for. Like yeah, we know Ben Shapiro is f---ing idiot but dude has a huge platform & the average voter isn’t as informed as us.
Feb 3, 2020 I'm with you, but tbh I don't think many people who lean on the words of ben shapiro would consider voting dem in the first place. However I know if he gets the nomination it will go beyond fringier commentators and onto more mainstream places like fox news and such
Feb 3, 2020 Guess who has an even bigger platform and if Bernie is the nominee it would be a good idea for him to go on that huge platform again... The Joe Rogan Experience Cries of socialism won’t scare independents and rust belt voters away. Bernie got a huge props from Rogan‘s audience...Apolitical working class people and Independents. So many comments on that video (11 million views on YouTube alone) about how people thought he was crazy but once they heard him lay out his plans on Rogan‘s platform they think he’s reasonable. And now with Rogan endorsing Bernie...that’s way more noteworthy than Squirrely Ben’s propaganda.
