Mar 26, 2019 The pitches have begun.... (which are bs because I'm pretty sure they've already made their picks, but anyway) Pitches Vote for the 10th spot here
Mar 26, 2019 definitely already picked i know the list they pick this year will for sure be reasonable, each will fit well but most of the ideal picks are already way too big for the freshman list we dont need it anymore
Mar 26, 2019 This list getting even more predictable each year. The list been made, but here's what I think will be on it. Blueface Rico Nasty (might be snubbed) Lil Baby Gunna Juice WRLD (XXL being late as h---, as usual) Sheck Wes Cordae if he stays relevant Comethazine if he stays relevant Flipp Dinero Lil Mosey Melly would've been on there, but then he got literal minded.
Mar 26, 2019 2016 will always be the best list. This would be a great list tbh. Would love to see Boogie, Da Baby and Roddy Ricch get some recognition. Tierra Whack too. But I'd be surprised. I'm still f---in upset about Melly.
Mar 26, 2019 2009 list just for Cudi, Ace Hood, Spitta and Wale alone. (Just had to drop some knowledge.) B.O.B. fell off hard, and that flat earth bs aint helping. Asher Roth had that I Love College song and never hit the mainstream again. Pabst and Jazz is a must listen though. Couldn't say anything about Blu besides Below the Heavens was kinda good. The only time I heard Mickey Factz was on a Curren$y song. And finally Charles Hamilton. This is an interesting pick, as a Hamilton fan, honestly, he's very slept on. He kinda screwed himself over his record deal. Pink Lavalamp is one of the greatest mixtapes made and is a must listen. Charles definitely picked himself up throught the years, dropped a debut, and even had a song on Empire. And not to mention, he has a s--- ton of mixtapes. (My bad for that lmao, probably think im a stan.)
Mar 26, 2019 @WheresTheMeat check out Blu's NoYork debut solo album, s--- was insane. His latest album (collab with Oh No) was also really good. The Pink Lavalamp is an under appreciated gem, its kinda like what I was saying about Wale's Nothing mixtape - came out at the tail end of the ringtone era, and I was convinced he was gonna be a superstar, ushering in the new era. I guess the same goes for most of those dudes from that time, even B.o.B before he went completely pop. Spitta's been by far the most consistent of them all, Cudi probably the most successful. Always liked Ace Hood but his career kinda stalled after Bugatti. he's released a bunch of mixtapes but dont think he's had an album out since 2013 edit: i remember 2dopeboyz put together an incredible compilation of B.o.B songs from when he was coming up called 'Should Have Been the First Album' - I'm sure you can still find it floating around online. Dude was talented.
Mar 26, 2019 @Sav Stanfield Can't remember much, but a remember B.O.B. being pretty good before signing to Grand Hustle. Forgot to talk about Cory Gunz. Pretty sure he was on 2009 list. Honestly don't need to say why he's not in the public eye. f--- Baby. Thats pretty much. same situation Ace is in too with Khaled.
Mar 26, 2019 Gunz could have been amazing. It gonna be fascinating to look at this decade's lists in 5-10 years and see where they all land up. Despite the bs, a XXL stamp of approval is a big thing. Even though its importance seems to be lessening over time. Crazy to think the first Freshmen list was 2007. Remember Saigon? Gorilla Zoe? Even Papoose made it if I recall correctly. crazy times.
Mar 26, 2019 The same list that Lupe was on. Lol, a lot if rappers fell off the list between 07-12. Roscoe Dash, Rich Boy, Pill, Fred The Godson, Diggy. Pill never really fell off, just never dropped anything after that Self Made album. Everyone else I mentioned are pretty much no names by now.
Mar 26, 2019 Pill was the s---! I think he had a tape called Prescription or something like that? I remember bumping that nonstop back then. g.d. dude just disappeared off the face of the earth.
Mar 27, 2019 Haven't heard much from her, but what I did hear I didn't care for too much she's not terrible though
