Today marks the 20th anniversary of Nas' album I Am. This, and Nastradamus, are my least played Nas' albums, and I really never dove into it in depth.
As much as I can remember the first time playing this, it's definitely one of Nas' most underrated albums tbh. It gets an 8/10.

Copped it first day at The Wiz (or it might have been Coconuts). Good album, not classic but a solid project. Under the disc, they were promoting Nastradamus at the end of that year. Everybody was hyped about that. Of course we had no idea how s--- that album would be. Also, shoutout to TRL. Their premiere of the "Hate Me Now" video with the crucifixion footage, led to Puffy pulling up on Steve Stoute with some goons. Made Steve a household name after that.Ordinary Joel, Zeugma, Jay Zeus and 1 other person like this. -

Some of the first Nas I was introduced to. I’ve bought this cd 3 times, now I stream it. Love the production. Here’s the Hate Me Now sample origin

I f---in love this album. Was one of the first CDs I ever brought and I played it til it was scratched to s---. Obviously its no Illmatic or It Was Written (or Lost Tapes) but I do think it deserves to be ranked in that 2nd tier of Nas' discog, next to God's Son, Hip Hop Is Dead, Life Is Good. For me, with the nostalgic element, its in his top 4 or 5. Strong 8/10, maybe up to 8.5Ordinary Joel, Zeugma and Enez like this.
