Who cares. Those guys dropped better albums than new guys in the last decade. We all know that guy who tweeted this list is never really a fan of any legends anyway. He doesn't even know what real rap is and the fact Drake is at the top of that list alone shows for it.

BTW, the guy gives the example of basketball, I can't imagine a list in basketball that doesn't have LeBron James in it now. Last I checked em wasn't even retired at all.

Drake is objectively and far away the biggest rapper in the world.

The 'legends' he probably refers to dropped some good albums (life is good, compton, 444, snoop had some good ones) but they were overall just decent.

But I don't think his list has anything to do w quality of music which people seem to think. Ngl I also thought at first but when I looked more closely, nah.

i love jay-z, eminem, etc just as much as the next guy, but when rappers get late in their career....they aren't good anymore. therefore, i don't agree with you saying that the old school guys dropped better albums than the new guys in the last decade

and your lebron example isn't a good analogy. lebron is clearly still playing at a high level even at his advanced age. that's as clear as day

sports & music are different, though. athletic greatness is very easy to see. its obvious who's good in sports. its not obvious in music. its much more controversial when you're talking music

Lol. But guys like Jay and Em have more fans and listeners still so I don't think the majority think alike with you. What's more, I still prefer listenin' to old guys more than the new ones. I'm not sayin' anything to your opinions. You like what u like. But sayin' Drake is the tier 1 and the rest is not on par with him. Saying that Kanye is tier 2 when his last 3-4 projects were obviously the worst s--- ever, how is Kanye's latest efforts better than Snoop's I Wanna Thank Me or Em's Kamikaze? I hate Jay's 4:44 boring a--- album but it's better than albums of most of the rappers on that akademicks list. Lol. Except Cole, Kendrick and Travis Scott I don't see anybody worth listenin'. Like even Travis is mainly likeable for the musicality not lyrics. My main point was what the h--- is this list about ? Nobody can say Drake is the best rapper, maybe u can say he is the biggest rapper right now but if that's what the list is about where the h--- is Eminem and even Jay Z ? That's just a bs list that doesn't make slightest sense.

Well, I have listened Kamikaze more than any other album in 2018, Same almost goes for I Wanna Thank Me in 2019 but guess Boogie was a step higher at that point. I'm sure that's just me with Snoop but as for Kamikaze I'm pretty sure many people that listened to it more than any other album in 2018 would agree with you. It is interesting. If he is wack now why does he still get all those streams ? Probably many of those who trashes the guy actually listens to him lol.

Bro, Jay Z is my favorite rapper of all time.

But to really say he's more popular RIGHT NOW than Drake is hilarious. Same w Eminem or Snoop. Drake is literally everywhere on the charts, where the others aren't. Kendrick is a little below that.. and then comes future / thug etc. The tecca dude and others are below that.

Its not about whether you like their music or think they're good rappers... but how big they are right now. Even if u hate Drake, he is f---ing huge and thats not even an opinion or subjective.

Kamikaze was solid to me.. and em has a big and loyal fanbase that buys his music, which causes good sales. But when did u ever hear the songs in public? Maybe lucky you or fall on some ocassion... but gods plan, nice for what and before one dance etc etc etc were a million times bigger worldwide I'm sure u notice that as well.. in people's cars, clubs, bars, on tv.. everywhere.

Akademiks is a loser but this is pretty undeniable if we're strictly talking popularity. Only changes I would make is Kanye should def be tier 1, he might've fallen off but he's still the biggest celebrity in music, negative press or not everything he does is still international news. Uzi should also be a tier higher.

Never said Jay was as popular as Drake. But Em kinda is, so I asked where the h--- is Em on that chart ? Don't tell me he is not at least as popular as Kendrick is. If it's about how big they are, then Jay-Z bigger than half of those, h--- even Snoop might be bigger than some rappers on that list. Em is definitely at least the 2nd biggest right after Drake.
I never hear any songs in public at all. Like all they play is trap anyway. So just because they just play trap as a background music and not Eminem makes Em less popular ? If anything it means people actually listen to his songs anyway. I never said Drake is not the biggest, I said he is nowhere near being the best rapper therefore the list cannot be about quality, and since there is no Eminem, list cannot be about who is the biggest, so the list doesn't make sense. I mean how hard is it to understand ? Show me one rapper that can top Em's numbers except Drake pls ? Show me how is Em not on that list ? How is he not bigger than Kanye or Cole or other bunch of nobodies I barely heard of ?

It doesn't make sense popularity wise neither. There is a guy named Eminem who has 30+ million monthly listeners. Where the h--- is he ? It's kinda funny how everybody act as if Em is not still one of the biggest artists. Like he is not the reason this site exists lol.

Btw, just checked the numbers, Thug and future has like 20 millions of monthly listeners while Em has 30+. So how are they more popular ?? Popularity is about f---in' charts ? Who cares about that ? People listen to Em more currently... Only rapper bigger than Em is Drake and he is barely a rapper anyway... But never suggested otherwise about him anyway. Hope u got my point...

    Dude

He literally picked a handful of rappers to make a point. That there is a difference in how big and popular artist are regardless of how good they are. There are 21 rappers mentioned lol

    There are no

    Wayne
    Nas
    Jay z
    Kevin gates
    YG
    Freddie gibbs
    Icecube
    Dr dre
    Nicki minaj

And like hundreds of other rappers old or new school. He just picked some rappers to prove a point lmfao. And all I see is u being mad he left eminem out... who gives a s--- about this ?

Then again maybe he did do it on purpose to make stans being unable to sleep for the next week hmm smart move tbh

Lol. So ? I'm right. The list is neither about the best rapper nor the most popular rappers... Are u akademics or what ??

I call that s--- list and it's a fact. Do u have any problem with that ? If don't please stop.
