Easily my favorite athlete ever and the reason I’m a Lakers fan. Went to his last game, saw him hit a game winning shot at the buzzer, so many other memories..

This is a tragedy, RIP..can’t even believe it. Been crying since I heard it.

Heartbreaking. My condolences go out to you, his family, friends, team mates, supporters and fans all around the world. Stay strong.

Man this really f---ing sucks. Kobe was my favorite nba player to watch with his style of play. And Westbrook currently which sort of reminds me of the way Kobe played at times. My current favorite rapper Juice Wrld dies, now Kobe. Feel so bad for Kobe’s family and can’t fathom what his family is going through.

Very sorry to hear this @Kon you were honestly one of the first people I thought about when my friend sent me a link about this. It’s tough. Especially since you got to watch him through his prime. Try and keep your head up man and remember you got to witness Kobe during his best days. If wanna just message someone and talk anytime like we’ve personally talked before, I’m open to talk to you man. Extremely hard to hear this and ik this isn’t really going to help but know you got someone that’d talk to you bud

I can understand why his family and close friends must be sad. But if you didn't know the dude personally chances are you feel no real emotional attachment to him, and if you claim to then you're probably not being totally honest with yourself, or you're just blindly going along with the chorus of virtue signalers. It's very boring and predictable but people are goofy

I don’t even have a personal attachment to him as a player. It makes me sad that someone and their daughter died. That’s a pretty normal human reaction.

Even so lots of people form attachments to musicians, athletes, actors etc. They may not know them personally but when you’re invested in someone’s career it can be very sad because that person’s art or whatever may have helped get them through tough times or in the case of an athlete it can feel like a piece of your childhood is gone if you grew up watching them. It’s not “goofy” to feel sad that someone died lol. So you’re telling me that if Eminem died you wouldn’t care and you’d think it was “boring and goofy” when people were mourning his loss?

Like yes when someone famous dies there are people who put on a social media show for attention but these type of people put on social media shows for attention all the time. It doesn’t mean many other people have genuine emotional reactions.
