Mar 10, 2020 Those of you saying that this virus is "deadly," clearly don't know what you're talking about. Literally many doctor's have called out the media for making it seem like the virus is going to k--- anybody that gets it. It's only deadly to the older population with weak immune systems. Sure, you obviously don't want to catch it, but it won't k--- you. The media does a great job brainwashing the whole world with their usual crap.
Mar 10, 2020 From what I’ve read, no child under the age of 10 has died from the virus. Having said that, it’s unclear how many of them were under 1 year old (never mind just 3 weeks!). For an unknown reason, kids are really not affected by it. What’s also strange, for many/most of these confirmed cases, the kids were asymptotic. Strange. I’m no expert though. I’m not trying to downplay how scary it must be to have a newborn baby at home with this strange new deadly virus spreading. I’m just trying to offer a different perspective and some positive news that might lower your stress level. Either way, good luck! Make sure everyone in your home is frequently washing their hands!
Mar 10, 2020 just because it *mostly* kills elderly (just like pretty much every other virus) doesn't mean it isn't deadly. a 15% death rate of people 70+ when people are living to be over 100 these days f---ing sucks. lol discarding the deaths of the elderly is asinine and disrespectful. my parents are closing in on their 60's. that's not to say that the media isn't hyping it up... but take a look at my previous calculations and tell me that it isn't actually "deadly" lol.
Mar 10, 2020 Αlmost 100 in Greece. Schools will be closed for 2 weeks. Honestly the worst part of this is the media.
Mar 10, 2020 My college, SF State, canceled all classes this week. Starting next week all in person classes will be conducted online until at least April 5th. Most colleges in the area are doing the same. Several high schools have closed down too.
Mar 10, 2020 Can’t believe how many people are acting like this is no big deal. Our country is in a awful spot regarding this, partly due to people’s ignorance and how unprepared this admin is.
Mar 11, 2020 Just look at how pple responding itt lol ""People are making a big deal over nothing"" such an american thing. But regardless of how many pple it kills, look at all the effects it has on the so many things. Society is entirely closed off at some places on the world lol.
Mar 11, 2020 Sorry to hear, if that offended you my bad. Won't wish the virus upon anyone, but take a look at this lol. The flu is more deadly....just saying. Idk about other countries statistics though....we already know no other place has it worse than China.
Mar 11, 2020 All those statistics show is that Coronavirus is ~50 times more deadly. Seasonal flu has a death rate of ~0.1% whereas as Coronavirus is ~5%—at the same number of cases as seasonal flu, (35.5 million) Coronavirus would have well over a million deaths compared to 34,200. Obviously more people have died from seasonal flu because it’s been around for much longer lol There’s currently no vaccine and we do not understand the virus e.g. why it doesn’t really affect children hence there’s cause for concern
Mar 11, 2020 25 cases in Poland and our government already closed every school, university, cinema, theatre in country etc etc. for 2 weeks.
Mar 11, 2020 i think the tactic here is to cop it early so in case its actually serious theres still room in the hospitals after that we gucci
Mar 11, 2020 yeah the coronavirus family unfortunately mutates rapidly and fast enough that your antibodies can't keep you from getting sick again after a limited amount of time. Even a vaccine will only be effective for a year at most. Same reason you can't become immune from the common cold (another type of coronavirus)
Mar 11, 2020 Hey man just cause we're not freaking out and halted the production of wooden clogs doesn't mean we don't care. It's just an over blown media story. The elderly and immunocompromised should shelter themselves. Every doctor I've seen on TV is saying what a non story this is.
Mar 11, 2020 Best case scenario: containment slowly starts to decrease the rate at which the virus is spreading while markets begin to feel more optimistic. Worst case scenario: The spread of the virus leads to a global recession with containment coming too late to effectively slow down the rate the virus is spreading. I feel like we’re probably closer to the later right now. Hope I’m wrong.
