No doubt about this in my opinion.
Nowadays will ahve so many rappers but they are all clones bar Roddy Rich(Young THug fell off) & boring as f---.

    2005-2008 classics non stop.
    just some favourites below

way better than majority of hip hop in the last 4 years

when you hear game and 50 back-to-back on "how we do" it sounds like game is a make-a-wish kid who won the chance to make a song with his hero

this was probably the worst era for commercially-released rap albums in the genre's history

It feels tougher to these days to find a particular artist or sound that works for you, coz there's an oversaturation of music that takes much more effort to sift through the massive music catalogues, and they're constantly churning out music so it's an uphill battle.

But in saying that, there's gold to be found in this generation's hip-hop as well. I feel like your gripe is with what's in vogue with mainstream than the genre as a whole in this age.

Nah @Koolo is 100% right, rap fans have been shi--ing on the era that they’re currently in for more or less as long as rap’s been a thing. Every era looks better in hindsight ‘cause everyone only remembers the s--- that’s worth remembering.

the genre as a whole is pretty f----- but. like yeah, you can always find good hip hop from any era, but these days it's not accessible, you gotta like look up "Underground" artists kinda. Where as the entire youtube (or other music platforms) homepage is filled with sheck wes, travis c----, the same f---ing jay rock/kendrick song from 3 yrs ago... the whole culture is fucken whack atm. it's all like "yeah i do fashion now haha" and if you need further proof the entire cultures whacked out rn, some f---ing n----- snitched and got a 10 milli dolla record deal off it, pusha lost his duo to "jesus" and then they came back to make their worst music in there entire careers. Don't even get me started on these n----s desperately trying to emulate 90's rap all over the place too

agreed—I've been pretty vocal about not being a huge fan of Game in general and I've never been a fan of the original Documentary aside from the 50 cuts and, like, Westside Story. But Doctor's Advocate, Doc 2/2.5 are much better to me.

I did always like this joint off LAX tho:

The short songs are infuriating. Same with the beat switches in most cases.

King, Port Of Miami, Doctor's Advocate and The Big b---. 2006 smacks the s--- out of this time period alone lol.

04-08 was an incredible time for rap music.

    Case in point for LAX

I forget that from 05-09 this guy was easily one of my favorite rappers OAT. Unfortanately he fell off as badly as Eminem imo.
