Where as the entire youtube (or other music platforms) homepage is filled with sheck wes, travis c----, the same f---ing jay rock/kendrick song from 3 yrs ago... the whole culture is fucken whack atm. it's all like "yeah i do fashion now haha" and if you need further proof the entire cultures whacked out rn, some f---ing n----- snitched and got a 10 milli dolla record deal off it, pusha lost his duo to "jesus" and then they came back to make their worst music in there entire careers. Don't even get me started on these n----s desperately trying to emulate 90's rap all over the place too

Apr 22, 2020 for me, the early 2000's are the best years of hip hop. Not only in the USA but also in germany It was still hard like in the 90's but still sounds fresh. Nowadays its like listening to the same s--- over and over again even when you switch the artist. There are only a very few who are good - great these days Edit: And its not only in hip hop You got so much other great artist in their prime back in the day. Only a few can be compared to that greatnes we got back in the day Before 2010 you got JT in his prime, you got Usher in his prime, you got Ne-Yo, you got Nelly Furtado prime. But as far as 2006 goes h--- Hath No Fury, Fishscale, Food & Liquor, Like Father Like Son are as good or better than most things on this list (though 2019 and 2018 to a lesser extent I agree are kinda a slump as far as AAA great rap albums went, but they gave me zuu and Care for Me which are amazing): 2015: DS2/56 Nights/Beast Mode Summertime 06 I Don't Like s---, I Don't Go Outside Shadow of a Doubt Barter 6/Slime Season 1/2 2016: We Got it From Here...Thank You For Your Service Still Brazy The Life of Pablo The Sun's Tirade Blonde (kinda cheating but you could put Jeffery here or something too) 2017: Culture More Life d--- HNDRXX Beautiful Thugger Girls 2018: Culture II DAYTONA Care For Me Swimming Victory Lap 2019: Bandana zuu The WZRD Deathrace for Love Perfect 10 Not necessarily saying this is a better period, really I just agree with @Koolo and others that have mentioned the cherry picking thing. I think depending on what was going on in your life at a certain point you'll always end up romanticizing a certain period for music (like for me it's probably 2009-2015 cuz I was in college/early 20s).
May 4, 2020 I listened to Doctor’s Advocate for the first time in years last week and was absolutely blown away by how well that album holds up today. The beat selection, in particular, is absolutely incredible; Doctor’s Advocate inarguably holds its own in this regard, even when compared to The Documentary. To this day, I’m impressed that Game somehow managed to use a cast of producers (yes, many were in-house Aftermath producers) to perfectly capture Dr. Dre’s sound despite his lack of involvement. P.S. — Whatever happened to Game’s great ear for picking beats?

May 4, 2020 I agree. His ear for beats was second to none and followed through to LAX. Got it back a bit on D2/2.5 a f 1992 though but not by much. The only thing that annoys me about DA is that he mentions Dr Dre in every single song].
