Relapse and Recovery were 2 great albums to be released in a year. Also polar opposites in theme, style, delivery, everything.

Relapse Recovery and Kamikaze are his 3 great albums in the last 10 years.

The start of the compressed yelling, the punchlines, cringe love songs, working with popstars he had built his career on ridiculing, abandoning all his frequent collaborators, overreliance on his singing for hooks and use of terrible production.

Definitely the beginning of the end. Atleast he could still flow and put a song together. The worst had yet to come. Glad he's finally stopped yelling and he can flow on a beat again.

Good point about So Bad. Definitely a forgettable song in itself, but the more relaxed flow is a lot easier to listen to compared with how he sounds now.

Recovery has lots of problems, but it's highs>>>> anything since. He definitely sold out MASSIVELY with this though, it's the death of original Eminem.

Fly away. Talks about chasing the dragon and mentions trailers.

I love recovery because I love pop music and the MTV top 40. It’s not quite as good as Revival. It needed a bit more political commentary; maybe him poppin off on Obama would have helped the album achieve greatness. Love the yelling and the new Wayne style punchlines. It was a good era for slim just not up there with Revival era

I agree with bme. That song where he sews and sews shut his own booty hole is dope.

This was the last time he was at the very top of his career.

Wonderful album, many good memories. His last perfect album, which many liked.

I do actually enjoy the album but all Swizz's points here are correct.

Eminem just copied Wayne's punchlines & used Paper Trail & Blueprint 3 style the 2 biggest hip hop albums of the previous years.

Nothing organic about the album at all.

    "Uhhhhhhhh"

    Still his 4th best album.

And to think that we complained about his shouting and flow on this. I'd take this style over anything he's done since tbh.

This topic became a Recovery circle jerk. I loved the album after the 1st few listens. Really disliked it after a few weeks. His first 3 albums and Relapse are definitely better. Kamikaze and MTBMB arguably too.

Recovery was a great album, no one can take that from Eminem.

No Love, Space Bound, Going Through Changes, Not Afraid, Seduction, 25 to Life.. list goes on.

Of all his albums this is the one that's gets looked back through rose-tinted glasses the most.

it kinda cemented his legacy. it put him back in a positive space in the pop world or whatever. it's better than his next 2 albums at least.
