LOL again let me just state that I am still a huge Em fan and love his latest stuff. He's on a different level now lyrically and technically, I just have, like you said, a nostalgic love for his earlier material, and there's nothing wrong with that :)

    i understand

the way he used to flow with a beat is stuff of legend

but it was only there to hide the fact that he was in a daze from 1997-2008

listen to biterphobia and right for me
that's how he feels comfortable rapping
over an instrumental he's very familiar with, interacting with every element of it with crazy technics and stories

not just using something from a pile of dre or bass beats and crafting your entire delivery around it

Lol I agree he seems to have a definite love for the double time, technical flows, but sometimes I feel like his older stuff was more about what he was actually saying, than just a crazy flow. But I love all aspects of how he raps so it's all good.

almost every line means two or three or four different things now though

    a line about a woman

will have a double meaning about his mother
    or his daughters
    or a fan
    or a colleague
    or a rival
    or hiphop
    or one of his personalities

or some combination of several of these or others

when i'm gone, so much better, 25 to life, die alone and despicable are great examples of this

or for example the arkham asylum line in psychopath killer. the asylum could mean arkham, a real hospital or rap

    I didnt mind DvE

    GOF was meeeeeh.....

Headlights was the major disappointment to me.

Think cleaning out my closet, then fast forward to closing the curtain on the whole ordeal... then we get headlights???

Psychopath Killer is extremely underrated and underappreciated. If you would've went back 5-6 years ago and said we'd be getting a song with Eminem, Royce, Crooked I, and Yelawolf it'd be very hard to believe and people would be buzzing like crazy for it. Song was perfectly executed. By far the best "Shady 2.0" collaboration so far.

I like Right For Me but it's not single material. Fine Line on the other hand, perfect single choice. It's basically about what he was going through during the time of the Monster Tour. I could just imagine a video similar to Sing For The Moment, with footage from the tour. Honestly I think Fine Line would've made a better lead single/video than Guts Over Fear.

as much as I'd love to see a fine line video, right for me would be absolutely crazy

imagine seeing how he would visualize the metaphors for his albums in the second verse

and if/how he would show that the three verses are from slim, em and marshall respectively. I always wished we got a rhyme or reason video for that reason, it's such a great concept. the order is just reversed here

    :whew:

if we got one for fine line though I'd definitely be cool with it being like what arch is saying
