    Palme d’Or: “I, Daniel Blake” directed by Ken Loach
    Grand Prix: “It’s Only The End Of The World” directed by Xavier Dolan
    Best director TIE: Olivier Assayas for “Personal Shopper” and Crisitan Mungiu for “Graduation”
    Best actor: Shahab Hosseini in Asghar Farhadi’s “The Salesman”
    Best actress: Jaclyn Jose in Brillante Mendoza’s “Ma’ Rosa”
    Jury prize: “American Honey” directed by Andrea Arnold
    Best screenplay: Asghar Farhadi for “The Salesman”
    Caméra d’Or (best first feature): “Divines” directed by Uda Benyamina

    Interesting that the most critically acclaimed films of the competition (Toni Erdmann, Paterson, Elle, Aquarius, Sieranevada) came away with zero awards.

    this is for dkr i assume -- pretty funny. ive noticed nolan sometimes does box himself into corners editing wise. i remember in batman begins theres a ridiculously badly cut sequence where rachel dawes kind of kisses her boss? but they dont let the moment play out and they randomly cut to bruce wayne wearing homeless man rags at a pay phone. just choppy - like they fused two scenes and werent sure what moment they wanted

    Guys, I finally met @Woody. I'd liken it to the De Niro and Pacino diner scene in Heat...except exceedingly cordial.

    Guys, I saw Woody Allen in person at the cafe in New York where he plays jazz on Monday nights. I also spoke with him, got his autograph and a picture with him, because I'm the biggest fanboy ever.

    I had an out of body experience for the rest of the night. I'm still kind of reeling from it, to be quite honest. I met the greatest of all time.
