it definitely has its supporters -- i dont begrudge them or anything. but after birdman, im over playful hollywood satires kinda. after the artist, im wayyyyy over whimsical love letters to hollywood.

    Manchester is legit though.

Some early twitter reactions for Silence: https://thefilmstage.com/news/first...s-silence-and-full-score-available-to-stream/

@captain awesome Do you get to see this one early?

Movies on my radar for December:
    December 2-
Things to Come (Mia Hansen-Love), Jackie (Pablo Larrain), Eyes of My Mother (Nicolas Pesce)
December 9- La La Land (Damien Chazzelle)
December 16- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Gareth Edwards), Neruda (Pablo Larrain), The Founder (John Lee Hancock)
December 21-23- Assassin’s Creed (Justin Kurzel), Julieta (Pedro Almodovar), I, Daniel Blake (Ken Loach), Silence (Martin Scorsese), Patriot's Day (Peter Berg)
December 25- Toni Erdmann (Maren Ade), 20th Century Women (Mike Mills), Live by Night (Ben Affleck), Fences (Denzel Washington)
    December 28-30- Paterson (Jim Jarmusch)

Having seen them at NYFF, I can't emphasize this enough...Toni Erdmann and Paterson are absolute must-sees.

Oh yeah? I really dug it, I think it sort of acts as the last act of a thematic trilogy with A Serious Man & Inside Llewyn Davis, which are my favorite Coen brothers films. I recently rewatched it and thought it held up very well. Alden Ehrenreich was brilliant and this is some of Roger Deakins's best work ever imo.
