Would have figured St. Louis to have a somewhat decent film community.

We have one six screen theater that only plays super mainstream films here. Still playing Mockingjay :mjcry:

they give us random releases. Like Inside Llewyn Davis we got that when NY and LA got it. It's just so random down here.

Very jealous! I had a great time watching it at home with only one other person so I can only imagine how dope it would be at the theaters with a crowd. My only complaint (which isn't even really a complaint) is that I had no idea what was happening at any point during the film. Honestly couldn't tell you about the story or why anybody did what they did. Assume that will be cleared up on some re-watches, so I'm not too worried about that.

Aside from that I'm very happy with how it turned out and it's easily going to end up in my top ten for the year once I check out all I want to check out.

Guys... in one hour, I will be seeing Inherent Vice. It's crazy I remember being in grammar school hearing about Magnolia and Boogie Nights. I remember seeing Punchdrunk Love and being BLOWN away by it. I'd just turned 17 I think, and that fall was awesome for me seeing R-rated films (also saw Rules of Attraction and Adaptation... great period for movies imo)

Of course, I remember being blown away by There Will Be Blood and, to a lesser extent, The Master. I remember each PT Anderson film experience in other words... dude has become an event.

    I'm pumped

I think he's the best director of our generation. I'm finishing the book momentarily and going to see the film tomorrow and (despite hearing more than one negative review :emoji_slight_frown:) I can't f---ing wait.

@Twan that's a pretty d--- good list. Not too many objections save for quibbling over rankings, but I'm really shocked Moonrise Kingdom was that high up but Grand Budapest wasn't even listed.

nah s----s a great movie. Still need to think of where it ranks. It's either just better than Sydney or top 4.

The scene with Shasta and Doc in the rain :rejoice:

Moonrise Kingdom was one of my favorite movies of 2012, and probably my favorite Wes Anderson film
