keep dodging. i dont need a cult of followers, its not that serious - perfectly reasonable to use the film tag for a film related podcast post lol.

50% off on Scream Factory releases starts today: https://cart.shoutfactory.com/landing/scream)
They restore and release lots of horror and B Movie stuff. Pretty sure all of John Carpenter's work is on there. @MovieSXN

You seen many of these? @Pinhead
I've seen Valerie and Her Week of Wonders and Possession. Had my eyes on Trouble Every Day and Hour of the Wolf for a while. Seems like a solid list based on that.

With you on Valerie/Possession. Bergman's Hour of the Wolf has some of my favorite camerawork ever, more drama than horror but falls into it with the story. I'd check out The Virgin Spring from him if you haven't, didn't know Bergman was capable of being so bleak and disgusting. Same deal with Santa Sangre, haven't seen the others.

Lisa and the Devil/The Iron Rose look f---ing great

I'll add that Trouble Every Day is pretty great...I found it unnerving and uncomfortable to watch, which is an endorsement for a horror film.

Update: I just watched The Iron Rose. It was pretty good! While I can't say it ever got under my skin, I dug its slow-burn execution and its emphasis on atmosphere over more overt scares. It's probably shy of a great film by some distance, but it does end strongly, saving some of its most memorable imagery for last.

    Also, the lead actress...God d---...:banderas:

I would have already seen it, but I was 20 minutes into it when the first bit of dialogue let me know I only had Russian subtitles. -___-

Mundane History is one of the hardest films I've seen lately, f---. Can't stop thinking about it. Might run it back soon.

The Lobster experienced some decent success and A24 is getting bigger. I guess I'm just hopeful, but after having It Comes at Night show up at a big, dumb theater near me things are looking up.
