    Why do I stil receive email when someone comments in a thread whereas I have deactivate these two options ?

    Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...
    and receive email notifications of replies

    these would be threads that are watched before you turned off the notification...go to these threads and you will see at top "unwatch thread" .. click it

    we have disabled that option for any future member...not sure why xf make that option default
