Apr 23, 2015 If you liked the first Avengers, you will LOVE Age of Ultron. The opening sequence is literally one shot full of action and I will say this now, if you think you've seen everything in the trailers, you definitely haven't. The tension between Iron Man and Captain America is clear which you can imagine due to Civil War coming soon. I've seen a lot of people saying ''it's the same as the first one''... Man are they wrong. Also, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are just what the film needed. Scarlet Witch is amazing and shoutout to Elizabeth Olsen also and if you've seen Days of Future Past, I'm sure you are all familiar with Quicksilver's amazing scene where he is that fast, it's slow motion and he's playing around with the bullets and putting peoples hands in their faces so they punch themselves? There is a scene a bit like that and it is amazing. Also a few plot twists (won't go into details) and I won't talk too much about Vision either, although I thought he was perfect, but I'll let you guys decide that Overall a GREAT addition to the MCU and I'm sure you guys know there is no post credit scene, but there is a mid-credit scene which is important in terms of the upcoming films. Won't spoil it
Apr 23, 2015 I had time to k---, so I went for an early afternoon showing of AoU today, i never 'review' anything, but i'm motivated to attempt a competent review of this movie, since i've been excited for it since it was first announced. *spoilers b------s* I'll start of by saying, this movie in my opinion, is 2x as better and bigger and bolder than the first one! It is a lot darker, and even a little gorier! The wealth of characters introduced should be enough for any marvel fan, especially because mostly every character gets a decent amount of screen time and introductions are good. The opening scene is amazing, but the finale is breathtaking. I normally see movies in 2D over 3-D, because a lot of movies just add 3-D as a gimmick (IE; throw something at the screen 50 times during the movie) but for AoE it's added purely for depth, everything pops and for the large set pieces and battles, the 3D showing IS A MUST! Hawkeye for me has always been the most boring character, and in this movie they explore his background a lot more, and give the character a proper amount of screen time, and not just as the bad guys b---- this time! I still found him to be a little boring, but he has much more depth and is a little bit more bearable. The on-screen romance between hulk and BW seemed forced in this movie, like from the first 30 minutes they were really pushing it, and fast for the inevitable 3rd act kiss. All in all the only things I didn't like about this movie is the forced romance s--- as well as some memory things with Thor that took up too much time and didn't really lead anywhere. Ultron is my new favorite villain of the MU. Even the first scene before he even has a body had me tingling with joy that they got this right. His dialogue, motives, quips. Everything was perfect....almost. I felt he was at times a little more under powered than he should have been, but it's not a huge thing considering he was up against another robot, a god, an indestructible green rage monster, and a chemically engineered super soldier with the fancy f---in shield. The wonder twins had me worried, i thought they were going to be shoddily introduced among all the other characters being introduced in the same movie, but they weren't. The movie was great with them, and I loved their scenes. They really shined in the 3rd act. I don't want to give away too much so I'll leave it at that about the twins. They were great, and not annoying back-up characters making cameo's every 30 minutes. The Vision is a main character towards the end of the second act of the movie, and as above, I do not want to spoil too much about this character, because he is extremely intricate to the plot of the movie, and the ending. I don't know why but I was expecting the movie to go like this: Ultron arrives, kicks everyones a---. Vision arrives last 15minutes, automatically created by JARVIS or some s--- and saves everyone, then everyone jerks him off and they live happily ever after. But that wasn't the case, thankfully, and none of that was correct, and he was a perfect addition to the team when he does finally show up. I would recommend seeing this movie highly, some of it may be a bit dark to take younger kids to see it, but all in all it should be a fun family film, and I'd be surprised if it wasn't the highest grossing movie this year. I give it a 9/10. (These are just my opinions on the movie, and I never review anything, so take that into consideration once you've read this, cheers).
Apr 24, 2015 Spoiler but it did. biggest thing was it introduced the ideas of ragrarok and gave an reason why thor went home in the end and second thing was now earth heroes knows about infity gems and if they knew what the gem was in the first place i dont think thor would've let stark to examine it. kinda sucka that if they dont create alternative powersource for vision, thanos kills him in infity war pt1
Apr 25, 2015 So apparently, at least according to Joss Whedon, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. IS NOT a part of the MCU. Even though it had episodes after the fallout of Thor: The Dark World and The Winter Soldier, had cameo's from Nick Fury and Maria Hill and references a lot of the MCU. http://moviepilot.com/posts/2882938...f-the-movies-versus?lt_source=external,manual
Apr 25, 2015 I mean - he's not wrong. Coulson being brought back somewhat taints the impact of his death scene in the first avengers
Apr 25, 2015 I can understand him being mad since he has been very open at the fact of Coulson being brought back numerous times, and the whole reason the scene happened was to finally knock the Avengers heads together and team up but... at the same time you can't ignore all the MCU references in AoS (even though I haven't watched AoS since halfway through season 1)
Apr 25, 2015 I'm a HUGE marvel fan, so I've been trying to make time to watch agents of shield for a while now If it has references, cameos, and an engaging story I think I'll enjoy it
Apr 25, 2015 I really enjoy AoS.. Too bad its not in the same universe but makes sense.. I mean the same characters can exist in a different universe although it follows the events of the 1st avengers movie in some ways.. Its not bad tho cause in the universe AoS is we already have on new hero and plenty inhumans..
Apr 25, 2015 I've liked both Marvel and DC since I was a kid, and Marvel has always been higher up but I struggled to watch AoS. I gave up halfway through season 1 and never looked back. I've kept up to date reading reviews of recent episodes, but I'll probably start back from the beginning somewhere down the line especially since Arrow, Flash and Supernatural ends in a few weeks.
Apr 25, 2015 The whole (spoiler tags incase people rage at me) Spoiler Skye being the Inhuman Quake and Raina being... Someone got me interested, but I'll probably wait till season 2 has ended than have a huge catch up
