I'll give it another viewing before I state my opinion but I love how grounded or grounded for Marvel. Seemed like it was taking inspiration from the first Iron Man film. Loved the post/mid credit scenes. Really hoping we get more of the Ant-Man universe either it be a prequel featuring a younger Hank Pym or a straight up sequel. Can't wait for Civil War!!

Saw Ant-Man last night, seriously one of my favourite marvel movies so far! The effects they used to make Michael Douglas look like his younger self was spectacular. The finale was huge, introducing the Quantum Realm and setting up the conflict in Civil War in the post credit were both done perfectly. Glad to see a legacy character like Ant-Man get such proper treatment :blunt:

Seen this earlier today. When the trailers were released I expected this to be one of the worst marvel movies. Only reason I agreed to seeing this is because Paul Rudd is great. Movie completely blew me away did not expect that at all. Great casting as well Paul's buddy the Mexican guy was f---ing great if anyone else would've played that role it would've been awkward as h--- but he nailed it. Everyone was great. Far better than I thought it would be honestly think it could be top 3 marvel films.

Most MCU movies are good on the first watch, but they don't really hold up or age well. They tend to be too obnoxious when you re-watch them. I think Iron Man holds up pretty well and perhaps GotG, although that's more arguable. I saw Ant-Man yesterday and I'm pretty sure it's gonna hold up well in comparison to most MCU movies because it has some really interesting visuals and as others have said, it's more grounded. Plus, the parallel father/daughter arcs give it much needed focus and more humanity than I expected. How well it's going to hold up I'm not sure, but I imagine I'll at the very least be able to enjoy it more than the others on future viewings.
