Yeah, probably the best year of his career followed by one of the worst years of his career, and they won 5 more games, and a playoff spot with him being used less. Bell is everything Bush is, with the exception of Bush's elusiveness, and Bell is more powerful, and more durable. Riddick has great hands, too, and the potential to be an every down back (Obviously not with the way the Lions offense is ran, but if need be he could probably take the role comfortably). Bush's contract was originally 4/16 million. No way you can convince me that he's worth that...Especially while trying to resign Suh, and Fairley, and Levy's contract is up next year.

^Yep. Dallas was planning on giving Dez a ten year $140 million contract until this news came out. Now they're gonna franchise tag him.

Adam Schefter reporting that Adrian Peterson is being reinstated.

Video was supposed to be released yesterday and still nothing.

Incident reportedly took place in 2011. More you read about this more it sounds like it was just blown out of proportion. This is the police report, if it was as bad as media outlets are making it out to be, this supposed video would of been leaked years ago.

I thought the same thing when I initialy heard the story. I didn't read the report, but apparently even the woman said it was nothing, there was no assault, no violent manner, not really even a major argument. I Also saw some dude from the NFL Network said the story he heard would make Dez's situation worse than Ray Rice, and that Dallas has seen a video, and that's why they've been reluctant to sign Dez to a long term. Still makes no sense though, they add so many clauses to athlete contracts that I'm sure they could have something with Dez that would make it possible without much risk on their part.

Even if he dragged this girl out of her car, that and Ray Rice's incident were still tame compared to what AP did and no one seems to give 2 f---s about that anymore, viral media like this can go away now... not everything has to be blown out of proportion

Not going to talk about Dez because nothing is official as of right now...its all rumors and speculation.

However, Peterson and Rice were both wrong. But how you could think that what Peterson did was worse than what Rice did is incomprehensible. INTENTIONALLY punching someone is worse than a man who disciplined his child and went a little overboard? LOL!

I'm not defending Peterson, what he did was wrong. But I know many people who have had a mark or two on their body after being whipped with a switch. Now they weren't quite as bad as the marks on Peterson's son, but that's what happens when you use a switch on someone.

Ummm because f---ing beating a child with a switch at all, let alone TO THIS POINT is DEFINATELY worse than punching your drunk wife who didn't give 2 f---s after it happened, seriously get the f--- outta here

Rice and his wife were drunk and I'm not trying to use that to justify what he did but at least that makes the situation some what understandable. Beating the s--- out of your kids leaving scars and bruises though? There's just no explaination for that.....

It's not worse at all. The reactions to what Peterson did were very polarizing. Multiple NFL players came out and said that they got whipped with a switch when they growing up.

The reactions to what Ray Rice did weren't polarizing.
The reactions from the public of what Peterson did were very polarizing. The reactions from what Ray Rice did were not. Multiple NFL players came out and said publicly that they got whipped with a switch when they were growing up. And even if you still think what Peterson did was worse, your opinions are clearly unpopular based on public reaction

Of course the reactions to what AP did were polarizing, because like you said there are still psychos who think it's OK to beat your kid with a switch. I had the benefit of growing up, not in Texas. I'm sure even outside of Texas using switches on kids was okay 20 years ago, doesn't make it okay today or in general. People used to own slaves too.

On the flip-side it's a lot harder for people to publicly say "Rice and his wife were drunk, b------s act up, s--- happens" but that really was the case. Sure he took it too far and I'm not saying it's okay to hit women but beating a child (who can't defend themselves in any scenario) is much, much worse and just a sign that you're a terrible parent/human being.

There's no comparison between child abuse, and spousal abuse. Two completely different platforms. In most cases a woman can't defend herself physically, professional athlete abuser or not, but they can leave, they can seek help from trusted sources, they can forgive, they can pick their own path. A child's only trusted source is family. That's all they know. Peterson's kid couldn't just pack his s--- and leave. He couldn't grab a phone, and call the authorities. His only option is to accept that that's how life is supposed to be. He was, what, 4 years old? Count the switch marks in that pic, just the ones you can see. What could a 4 year old POSSIBLY do to warrant his father going to that extreme? Everyone has heard "Sometimes the female pushes too far, and gets what she deserves" (Even in the Rice case, when people were speculating what lead up to Roce punching her), when have you EVER heard that about a 4 year old getting beat to the point that Peterson took it?

That's cool if you guys feel that way. It's not something I'm going to argue back and forth about. I already acknowledged that Peterson went overboard, I just don't see it as worse than what Rice did and obviously I'm not alone based on public reaction

Yeah I'm a Vikings fan but this whole thing has completely changed my view of AP. I want him off the team and will never support him again, used to be a big fan. It's not just what he did, it's that he thinks he did nothing wrong and has acted like an a------ about this whole thing ever since. I forgave Michael Vick for what he did and even like him now even though I'm a big animal lover, but he's handled his mistakes well since then and has tried to repair his image. AP just keeps saying stupid things to try to make this seem better. I don't hate the guy, but just don't want to support him anymore.

I definitely think what he did was worse than what Rice did, but unfortunately many people see what AP did as normal and to me that's an even bigger problem.

@cdbleb explained it perfectly. While spousal abuse isn't something that should be taken lightly at all, a grown individual has the ability to acknowledge a situation and remove themselves from it where as a child is completely dependent on their parent and isn't going to question their parents actions. The child is simply in the more helpless scenario and that's why I think what AP did was worse.
