Oh yea he deserves a second chance, I'm not against that. Just would be too hard for me to root for him without feeling weird

Yeah I'm never rooting for Peterson and I used to be a big fan, not even sure I'll root for the Vikings next year if he's still on the team. I could have supported him again if he handled it better after the incident came out, but every single thing he's done and said since then has been stupid. I even forgave Michael Vick, don't want to be a fan of AP though or support him in anyway, he's an idiot.

Ray Rice has handled his situation much better too since it happened. Some of these guys realize their mistakes and some don't.

Wow Chris Borland retired at 24 because he's concerned about his long-term health and the effects of head-trauma. This is gonna be a huge thing...

d--- he was really good last year the 2nd half of the season, picked him up in fantasy (yes we have defensive players) and he was killing it.

I can only imagine since im pretty sure it's usually based on tackles and he was stock-piling them at ILB but he was also grading out extremely well overall, he was PFF's #4 ranked ILB at the end of the season.

This. People don't seriously think about the long term consequences. You could easily play just 2 years. Take 5 million of what you make and split it up into mutual funds. Buy a normal house that you will fill satisfied with. And live your life without mental problems in the future.

We still don't have enough research into the long term effects of concussions. You guys can joke about it, but being mentally depressed everyday in your later life feeling you can't beat your illness or feel relieved until you k--- yourself isn't a joke.

Not only that but alot of doctors, etc are starting to think repeated head trauma and concussions can lead to ALS. Alot of former NFLers have developed it. Worst disease ever. Very scary stuff.

or you could just spend three years in the league and be eligible to receive the nfl pension.
yea but how many rookies make 5 mil within the first 2 years? Borland was "only" making 460 K. Not nearly enough to last forever

I think some people are overreacting on the Borland story. I mean he didn't even have a concussion in the NFL, he had 1 in high school and 1 in middle school. Sounds like he was just being careful to me. If people didn't want to stop playing after Junior Seau killed himself, I don't see why they would with this.

I'd be willing to bet Borland comes back to the NFL in 2-3 years.

definitely a possibility, he comes from a middle class family and could be making 3 mil a year instead of a 100k or so

Yep, absolutely hate Peterson. It's ridiculous how he did this horrible thing and now wants to play the victim and act like the Vikings haven't supported him lmao. Everything he's said since then online and other places has been stupid too, he still doesn't seem to think he did anything wrong even though he eventually issued an apology about a month later that obviously sounded fake to me. Poor guy got paid 12 mill last year to smoke weed and be on vacation while the team publicly supported him every chance they got and now he's pissed for the lack of support? This piece of s--- isn't the victim and obviously barely has a brain if you paid attention to his twitter comments and other comments since this started.

But no worries, sounds like he wants out and they're gonna trade him. I really like Bridgewater, coach Zimmer and lots of players on defense. Basically I like the whole team, but if he's still on the roster, I won't be a Vikings fan in 2015. I'll support the players I like and hope they do well but won't care either way what the team does until he's off the roster. I already threw away my AP poster, no idea where my AP signed DVD is but I'll throw that away too if I find it. I still have his jersey in my closet but no chance I'll ever wear it again, might use it as a nut rag some day or something, who knows.

Another thing no one mentions is how another one of his sons got killed a year or 2 before this happened and everyone agreed it was a tragedy and a horrible thing and felt bad for AP. It's times like this a real father would be there for his kids more than usual, little did we know he beats them too. To me he's a delusional idiot, a------ and I don't agree with what he does or anything he says. He has 6 or 7 kids with about the same number of moms and I'm certainly not gonna support him in any way. I can't stand the guy. He's a 30 year old overpaid RB who would be a huge distraction to a team full of young players, Vikings need to do the right thing and get rid of him no matter what. He's not worth it even if you don't have a problem with what he did and how he handled it since then.

*edit* This article sums up some of these things pretty well.
