Bout to watch it right now, I'm so excited. Dinosaurs are my favorite and I remember I wanted to be a paleontologist in 2nd grade :mjcry:

So I finally got round to seeing this. It's so beautiful, the nostalgia when the music started at the beginning of the film :hovcry:

The praise here makes me want to see it again. Wasn't really all that happy with it tbh. Wasn't having a particularly good night when I went see it so I may give it another chance

I thought the first 2/3s of the movie was kinda disappointing but then the final 1/3 was amazing. I agree that I'm surprised with the overwhelming praise and how much money it made.

Like I said they did an AMAZING job of marketing this though. Based off of the initial trailers I didn't even wanna see it. But with the original films in constant rotation on TV lately with the Chris Pratt promo spots mixed in along with other ads it really gave me some nostalgia and sparked my interest.

I guess part of me is disappointed that it wasn't more "horror" oriented and the overwhelming cornyness was a huge problem for me. I didn't particularly care for the captain save a hoe raptor scene and the presence of the original t Rex felt predictable..I'm watching the original today and its still on some levels pretty intense in terms of legitimately making me nervous when the dinosaurs' are on screen

Exactly. The first one was and still is legitimately scary at times. I had a hard time sleeping at night after I saw it in theaters at age 9 lol. None of the sequels really have that feeling.

I thought this was okay at best. Even by modern blockbuster standards, this gets stuck on stupid early and never lets up. Lazily scripted from its plot to its characters (ostensibly written by four adults), the movie is filled with illogical scenarios and decisions (too many to count) and cliche character types (for one, the charismatic Chris Pratt is left playing humorless badass). Sure, the finale brought out my inner five year old and it is well paced, but there isn't too much here that's memorable.

It's a d--- shame they didn't inject more humor into Chris Pratt's character, I know he was supposed to be more serious but I think there was definitely room for it. Jake Johnson was definitely the show stealer though.

On par with the original for sure, going again this weekend for a second time. I was excited for this but tried to keep my expectations low and I was blown away. I only have one major gripe with the final battle even though it was a classic scene.

How the f--- can the mosasaur be able to jump on main street, like they specifically say it can eat anything near the waters edge.. If you look at trailers and s--- there's like tables for people to sit next to the water haha. Plus you would think the worker doing the demonstration in the beginning wouldn't be out on a platform above the water like a f---ing snack.

If I was a fan of the others growing up, how will I like this one?
