watched It Follows tonight. Very very creepy and atmospheric. Probably the best thing I've seen this year (although its competition is pretty weak)

This was a lot of fun

I'm curious on peoples opinions on this film.

Also, I watched Dallas Buyers Club. Great film.

I really enjoyed it. The ending bugged me but it was great how the film was shot over a period of 12 years.

      The Turin Horse 2011
      ★★★★★ Watched 24 Jun, 2015

Posted at my personal blog, Aesthetics of the Mind:

      aestheticsofthemind.wordpress.com/2015/06/24/the-turin-horse-tarr-2012/

For six days, man and woman each eat a potato, and then dark silence overcomes them. Ritual figures deeply in Tarr’s observation of the death of God. Metonyms of the Lord, the horse will not eat, the wind will not blow, the water will not rise, the fire will not burn. Life stands still. God Is Dead.

      Heaven Can Wait 1943
      ★★★★½ Watched 22 Jun, 2015

Full review at Next Projection: nextprojection.com/2015/06/25/dreaming-technicolor-heaven-can-wait/

Heaven Can Wait is a frank, dryly satirical, and uniquely charming film from one of the great masters of early American cinema, Ernst Lubitsch...

What makes Heaven Can Wait different from other films from the classical period is Lubitsch’s charming nature...

There’s a certain kindness about the world that is captured on screen; it is all quite familiar and friendly and makes one feel good about the world.

      85/100 - Excellent.

Watched it last night, and it affected me more or less as it did the first time. The colours and special effects are glorious. The film is aMAZEing.. :P

Okay, dad jokes aside, it’s pretty darn excellent, and Del Toro’s best. It weaves fantasy fiction and realism really well allowing for one to comment on the other: War kills imagination, Imagination provides respite from war. Transcendence is found in death, through sacrifice, what… more

Before James Bond was Jason Bourne. I grew up on Brosnan Bond so I really like the goofier Bond tropes. I think i only watched this once growing up and only remembered the laser scene. From the opening scene with the plastic duck to Bond using a chick as a meatshield 10 minutes in, this had me hooked. Over the top, hysterical, iconic, campy, fun, etc. Some nice setpieces, a great villain, great song, beautiful opening credits, etc.

Planning on revisiting a lot of them before Spectre. I'll be watching Dr. No next.

Inside Out - 9/10. Very well done, I loved the originality of it too.

Jurassic World - 7.5/10. I wasn't too fond of the ending, but aside from that I enjoyed it.

Ninja: Shadow of a Tear - 8/10. Great choreography, especially for a TV movie.
