Mad Max Fury Road still a 10/10 movie gets better every time I watch it. I really hope Wasteland gets announced sooner rather than later and this time it has more of Max being the main role again.

:wtf2wtf: But it obviously wasn't anything incredible, just entertaining enough. Probably won't watch it again though.

    Curse of Chucky

Nice return for the franchise. They ditched the comedy from Seed/Bride of Chucky and returned to horror. Kind of a haunted house story with Chucky being scary again.

Nice twist at the end too. 7.5/10

      ★★★ Watched 27 Nov, 2015

A little sensational and lacking real development besides the main character, but d--- are Gyllenhaal and the fights entertaining

Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi 1983
      ★★★ Rewatched 26 Nov, 2015

Filler, childishness, & poor direction/acting bring down what is otherwise a cohesive trilogy. Final showdown is exceptional.

Ups the ante on the first by drawing on the action and mystique which captivated audiences from the beginning.

      Flowers of Shanghai 1998
      ★★★★★ Watched 25 Nov, 2015

A languid camera and lethargic fades circumscribe four episodic narratives within the atmosphere of a 19th century opium laden flower house (brothel). Soft spoken and elegant beyond measure.

      96/100 - Masterful.

    The Master (2012) ★★★★★

There is an ongoing dialogue that exists between you and whatever films you chose to revisit on a semi regular basis. The great Pauline Kael was said to never have watched a film more than once. Her job as a critic was not to form a malleable relationship with a film, but to readily and critically pass judgement on it.

While the critic's responsibility to their readers is to punctually and lawfully hand down a verdict, we all know that the most captivating cases are the ones that aren't so easily dealt with. Judge Judy's arbitration might fit better in a time slot, but most disputes aren't resolved in an afternoon. Years go by, appeals are made, new evidence surfaces... What might seem like an open and shut case from the onset, mutates into something magnitudes more challenging and thus rewarding.

Years into the trial, I'm still in the discovery phase with Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master and I kind of hope it never ends.

    The Babadook (2014) ★★★★
    [IMG]

When his widowed mother's emotional unavailability manifests itself as a gothic boogeyman, Kevin McCallister must defend the roost with his wacky booby traps. Paying homage to films like Repulsion and books such as Grimm's Fairy Tales along the way, Jennifer Kent stitches together a powerful tapestry threaded by tense sound design, chilling melancholia, and zero conformity to the modern conception of the horror genre.

Ex Machina: It's amazing how a robot can be so pretty and yet so creepy. Ultimately, Nathan's vision came into fruition although the circumstances were not ideal. Domhnall was ok but Oscar and Alicia really stole the show. Ending was interesting- I wonder what would have happened if Caleb chose not to stay? Hmmmm. 8/10.

    Predestination: Go f--- yourself. 8/10.

"Don't you get stubborn with me, young lady. You want to be choked again?"
Domestic abuse, BDSM, or just some good 'ole romantic banter?

The couple of flashes of brilliance by Lang can't redeem this confused piece of propaganda. A kid sidekick was pushing it, but the forced love interest with the laughable accent turned it into an ABC Family Original. Begrudgingly scrapping my plans for an Indiana Jones-Fugitive-Pretty Woman crossover. Still, you learn more watching a legend fail than watching lesser directors succeed. 2/5

Am watching 'American gangster' right now, i forgot how brilliant this is. Its one of a handful of the few movies to come out the last ten years which id say is a genuine classic. Some of Denzel's best work ever too.

    Knife in the Water (1962)

A nameless leather tramp bums a ride from an older, married couple in the midst of a quarrel. Andrzej, an aging sportswriter, invites the young man for a day out to sea under the guise of a nautical education intending to assert himself as the superior man. The husband and the hitchhiker lock horns as their resentment for one another boils over. The wife and boat share a name and a role as spoils for the victor.

Knife in the Water is a struggle between the arrogance of youth and the wisdom of age as well as an often tense examination of masculinity and the competition that it breeds. On the cusp of 30, Polanski's debut feature is a very personal conflict put to screen, its resolution a middle finger to his future. 4/5
