July 9th is the 1st day FAs can officially sign contracts. Technically he can still change his mind in the next 12 hours.

Pick is top 7 protected, so they would really have to pack it in, trade Parsons and spit right in Dirk's face.

Ya they got him because they needed a gritty defensive big and he will probably play well with Lee at the 5. Still don't think those two make an overachieving team that much better (they would still be a fringe playoff team). If they are gonna be here short term then it just stunts the growth of their younger bigs.

Still think they need to see what Sullinger is before he becomes a RFA next year, supposedly he has lost weight and if that's the case then they need to play him 30 mins a night and see what he produces/see if he can stay healthy(also weight related). He probably has the highest ceiling of any Celtics player if he could get his s--- together and if a contract year can't get him motivated then nothing will.

True, but any pick between 7-20 is still valuable. Getting guys who can contribute and are on rookie deals is really the best way to get your organization moving in the right direction.

I agree just saying a tank would be possible but it would require Dallas to clean house. Not sure it's worth the risk with how bad some of the other tanking teams are. But if DJ goes back to the Clippers I expect that pick to end up #12-14 and the Nets pick to be just inside the top 10.

Rumor was that Jordan turned down 6 picks for #9 from the C's (Ainge wanted Winslow) which tells you how valued those lotto picks are and that's the reason I want a full on Celtics tank. Clearly Stevens turning a bunch of role players into a playoff team wasn't enough to reel in any FA's, but a trade centered around 2 lotto picks might be enough to get Cousins away from the Kings. Only chance they have is to trade for that star and then hope to bring in another one through free agency.

The whole situation is over with but why were the clippers going to such drastic measures to keep him. Its DeAndre Jordan, Wtf. The player who cant play in the 4th quarter because he'll lose you the game with his free throws. Hes also a b---- for going back on his word with the Mavs. How much money is he getting anyway?

They should arrest the Clippers for the same thing they arrested Rick Ross. They didn't let him leave!

They've actually won a majority of the games that teams have tried to hack a shaq him. He's not a star, but a great role player and great fit for their team. With him they were title contenders, without, they were probably fighting for the 6-8 seed.

Twitter has been amazong during this whole situation, I'll try to post some of the funnier pics/gifs I've seen tomorrow morning.

DeAndre Jordan is officially a diva. But he has the right to change his mind. Still a crazy day for the NBA. This was great.

Why does ESPN keep throwing this pregnant lady Ramona Shelburne in our faces? I'm starting to dislike her at a Brian Windhorst level.

Miami signed Gerald Green to a 1-year deal! Now if we could only get more big-men depth... We have so many guards and SFs but just Andersen and Whiteside at the 5. Heat are meeting with Amare Stoudemire and Marcus Thornton today so it'd be cool to see some small deals result out of those I guess.

Solid signing he's a good bench player. Winslow been looking good in summer league, do you think he's got a chance to start over Deng?

I think the Heat are definitely going to bring him off the bench to start. Deng is getting up there in age (and minutes thanks to your Bulls lol) but he is one of the most durable players in the league and I don't think Winslow gets a chance to start unless he gets injured or if Winslow pans out to be something special. I'm not denying that could happen (I really hope it does) but I think his rookie year will be more of a learning experience rather than us asking him to do much.

The other thing is that with Wade always getting hurt, there could be some playing time open at the 2 guard, but that's depending on what position him and the Heat think he belongs. I hope he gets a lot of playing time because I think he has potential to be a James Harden type player with better defense.

As for Green, I love the signing. Can play the 2 guard or be bumped up to the 3 and still defend both positions. Gotta think that Dragic reeled him in. It will be fun to see some highlights from Green this season too.

Yeah can't deny Thibs ran Deng into the ground. Happy he's finally gone so he couldn't do the same to Jimmy.

Honestly Winslow reminds me a lot of Butler, just younger and farther along offensively than Jimmy was as a rookie. It's still hard to believe he dropped to them at 10.
