Post Summer League/ pre-preseason is the slowest time in the NBA. All the FA signings/transactions are done with. I usually don't mind it but the Sox s--- this year and are torturous to watch.

I feel you man, the White Sox have been mostly awful, mixed in with some nice stretches, especially recently. I'm really excited for this upcoming season.

My boy out in LA working out with Westbrook, sounding like he's back to his old self. Got this from Bulls.com

All indications from McClanaghan, who also trains Westbrook, were that the two went explosive first step for explosive first step with no one backing down. Any Rose, Bulls and NBA fan will accept Rose being able to match Westbrook’s acceleration.

“Russell came in and worked with him,” noted McClanaghan. “The first really consistent (dual workouts) in a while and it was really good.”

“It’s almost like it feels good because it’s back to the way it used to be,” said McClanaghan of working with Rose. “Going every day, five days a week. Getting in and getting back to what we did the first four years in the league. Feels good, actually, to do that and have a routine, talk trash and have fun. Not answer questions (about health). You know Derrick. He wants to come in and work, talk a little trash and work out and leave. It’s been fun for everybody to get back in that routine of the first four years.

“Pull up, jump shot, floater, his finishes, finishing at the rim; that’s a big thing he wanted to work on,” said McClanaghan of Rose’s off season priorities. “He wasn’t finishing like he wanted to. Change of speed stuff, getting back to that rhythm. We’re not going long, but we are going hard; very efficient workouts, a lot of reps.

“He’s coming along very well on (his shooting),” McClanaghan added. “It’s more getting that rhythm, a consistent summer. There was talk (of coming to Las Vegas). Right now he just wants to stay healthy and just be consistent with the workouts.

“The last few years have been sporadic, all the injuries,” noted McClanaghan. “Now he came out early July and will be there until (late) September. There have been restrictions (the last few years), limitations: ‘Let’s go two days a week,’ ‘let’s go 40 minutes.’ Now it’s, ‘Let’s go, let’s just work.’ It’s good to get back to the old days.”
    :drake3:
Cautiously optimistic. I've said it all along, he just needed one year to be healthy. Players returning from major injuries are always better the 2nd healthy year, same thing happened with D Wade & CP3. I'm glad he knows exactly what he has to work on. I'm really excited for this season and to see what Hoiberg can bring to the table.

Big Mitch You never made me ran once

Anybody watch the NBA schedule release show on NBATV last night? I didn't even bother, but I'm surprised by some of it.

-Cavs opening night play the Bulls in Chicago. Should be a great game. Warriors play the Pelicans. Some good opening night playoff revenge games.

-Looks like the league is pushing hard to showcase Anthony Davis as much as possible on nationally televised games. He might be a good pick for MVP this year.

-Mark your calendars for Wednesday, Nov. 11. Mavs host the Clips and the Trailblazers host the Spurs.

-Another fun Christmas: Heat vs. Pelicans, Thunder vs. Bulls, Warriors vs. Cavs, Rockets vs. Spurs, and Clippers vs. Lakers. I'm glad Miami got a game on christmas!

-Warriors and Cavs play again on MLK day.

-TNT will now host the WCF and ESPN gets the ECF. I'm more of an Eastern Conference guy anyways, so I'm happy with this. Big Van Gundy and Breen fan.

-ABC will now host Saturday night games! 8 of their 16 games will be Saturday nights.

-Back-to-backs and 4 in 5's have been significantly reduced, as expected. Silver is big on trying to keep the league healthy. I believe this season will mark the fewest back-to-backs and 4 in 5's in the history of the NBA.

Although I can't stand Rose and the Bulls, I'm happy that it sounds like he's on the right track. It's good that they can finally lose to LeBron when full strength instead of having excuses! lol, kidding.
You're right about this too. Wade had his MV3 season. (Never forget, the snub) You guys will love Hoiberg. I made it to a few ISU games this past season and he is always having fun. Reminds me a lot of Steve Kerr.

@Big Mitch I didn't watch it but I have been paying attention to it. Obviously super excited for that season opener and am going to do everything I can to get tickets. Idk about MVP for AD. He has to have one of the best records in the league for him to have a legit chance, unless he puts up super hero numbers. Christmas is always my favorite time to watch NBA, the match ups are always great. I LOVE the Saturday night games, hopefully they add more in the years to come. Always been a fan of TNT's broadcast, JVG has really bad mouthed the Bulls from a really uniformed perspective, I think Breen is great though.

How come you can't stand Rose? If Hoiberg is like Steve Kerr, we may have a special season. Our team does remind me of the Warriors, underutilized by a hard a--- coach, hopefully Hoiberg can take them to the next level.

Hahaha I feel you about JVG badmouthing the Bulls. Part of the reason I love him. I love TNT too. The pregame show with Shaq, Ernie, Kenny, and Charles has always been great.

You're right about AD probably needing superhero numbers, but I could see the league riding him hard especially since he'll be on TV so much.

It goes back to his college days. I was rooting hard for Kansas. (When I was younger, I had dreams of playing there haha)

But when he won MVP that one season, the first year of the big 3 in mIami, EVERYONE in my city/school hated the Heat and I couldn't stand the fans. People had no idea what they were talking about. Kept telling me Rose > LeBron and all this s---. Obviously, as a freshman in high school, that stupid s--- got to me, and it made me despise Rose and the Bulls. I would always bring up the fact that he cheated to get into college and that would always piss people off haha. I still use that argument all the time.

That's understandable, everyone here hated the Heat with a passion. I'm obviously heavily biased but Rose is the man. One of the most humble stars in the league. I watched every game of that 2011 season and he definitely deserved the MVP. He would k--- his matchup every single night, no exceptions. He had an interview with the media before the season started. He was ROY, named an all star his 2nd season, and one of the reporters asked about him making the jump to a top 10 player in the league, and his expectations. His response was priceless. "Why can't I be the best player in the league, why can't I be the MVP?".

So apparently Jimmy Buckets thinks he's a PG now? http://www.slamonline.com/nba/jimmy-butler-i-am-a-point-guard/#0qrFpeMpqDDhfkxc.97

“First off, I think I am a point guard,” Butler said without joking. “So I’ve done a heck of a lot of ball screen work, ball handling, getting into the paint and still handling, floaters, all that stuff point guards do. If I get a chance, high pick and roll more. I want some triple doubles. I’ve got to get my handle right so I can pass and get it to guys where they can make shots. I told Fred. You ask what position I play, I say point guard."

@Jet What you think about this? Kind of seems like a slight shot at D Rose because Jimmy is clearly not a PG.

I don't think it's a shot, more of an acknowledgement that he's gained a lot more responsibility since Rose went down a few years ago and he has improved in many areas. He definitely isn't a point guard, and I don't think he'll ever have the handles to be able to be one (at least a top one), but I like his confidence as long as it stays team-oriented.

That's what I'm hoping. I guess I'm just skeptical because of all the rumors about them having issues, even though Jimmy's done everything he could to shut them down.

Yea I know. Unfortunately it's one of those wait and see things but winning solves most issues anyways. Hopefully the Bulls can put all the pieces together. I'd love to see them be a force again.

In that game, I think Rose wanted to keep running Thibs' sets, and Jimmy wanted to do his own thing, so it was a little push/pull going on. It seemed like in the 2nd half Rose just said, ok fine, take it and do whatever you want. If they win that game, nobody is even making it an issue.

I obviously agree on wanting them to be a force again. I have dreams of them taking out the Cavs & whoever wins the west, with Rose holding up that championship trophy and making the GOAT 30 for 30 in 10 years, "What if I told you, that the Rose could grow through the concrete?"
