I was so torn on whether or not I wanted Brock back in the UFC, but I think he made the right decision.

Probably smart with all the Brazilian cards they put on, dont really know what that means for the womens 145 division because i really dont want fights from that division taking up spots on UFC cards.

Surprised they didnt wait to break this on UFC Tonight.

Edit: ok supposedly she has signed a Zuffa contract, but her fights at 145 will be in Invicta. Plan is to move down to 135.

I have a feeling Zuffa footed the bill for her on the last Invicta show, i mean she made 90K for that fight and theres no way Invicta has that kind of money.

Henry Cejudo is probably gonna fight Chico Camus in Mexico, random. Should have given him Formiga but i guess it makes sense because now Dodson is lined up to earn his rematch.

Both Bellator and WSOF shows this weekend on Friday/Saturday.

    Bellator 135

Joe Warren vs Marcos Galvao(rematch from when Warren robbed Galvao back in 2011)
Francis Carmont vs Guilherme Viana(Carmont's Bellator debut also at LHW)
Ryan Couture vs Dakota Cochrane(Couture's Bellator debut)
    L.C. Davis vs Hideo Tokoro

    WSOF

Justin Gaethje vs Luis Palomino-For LHW title
Thiago Silva vs Matt Hamill-LHW 4 man tourney opening round(the rematch that nobody wanted)
Jake Heun vs Teddy Holder-LHW tourney reserve bout
    Timur Valiev vs Ed West

Im really starting to wonder how many PPV's this will do, im seeing/hearing talk about this in places ive never seen before. And we're still months away from the fight.

If there was ever a time to bring back the Primetime series it would be now.

Does anybody honestly think McGregor has a shot? He definitely didn't earn his shot through merit.

Also, anybody watch Metamoris events? I find gi stuff boring and points just add to that. Submission only is pretty entertaining unless you just stall because it's a mismatch (Schaub, Chael...).

I do and what matters more is the odds makers do as well. And i think he has earned his title shot. Maybe Frankie Edgar technically deserves it more but Conor has put in work. Ppl might glance over the Holloway win, but dont forget that Holloway should be sitting in Dennis Bermudez's spot at #6. Holloway was robbed badly by Bermudez. Poirier was ranked 5th and Holloway SHOULD have been ranked 6th.

But nobody can tell me after watching Conor's last 3 fights that he doesnt have a chance.

    Sig/points bet on it?
I'm fervently in the "McGregor talked his way to being a contender" camp. He's deserving in the sense that he's popular and Aldo has beaten everybody more relevant. He's faced two top 10 opponents. Aldo has 9 defenses against the best fighters in the division. I'll be surprised if it's competitive. McGregor hasn't been in the octagon long enough for a reliable fight specific comparison. So I'm relying mainly on the fact that Aldo is one of the best fighters in the entire organization and has a strong chin.

Since they don't share any common opponents, that's the best I can come up with. It's more likely that Aldo exposes a hype fighter than anything. I could be dead wrong though.

Sig bet on what? not sure where i picked McGregor. Just said it would be dumb to think it wont be competitive. And if we're gonna go by the "who has he beaten" route, then refresh me on who Chad Mendes beat. A washed Guida(coming off the robbery of Hioki)? Nik Lentz? Cub Swanson YEARS ago? That fight looked competitive to me. And that was on the back of Aldo already having knocked him out.

I think you have to factor in how McGregor has looked against these guys, also factor in that he tore his ACL in the Holloway fight which explains that lack luster fight.

Again im not sure that McGregor wins but theres a reason he has better odds then Pettis had when he was supposed to drop down and fight Aldo. Conor is legit and he gets in ppls heads. Aldo hasnt blown the doors off of anybody in a while, i think things could get real interesting in the later rounds where Aldo usually slows down. I could see it being a similar fight to Aldo/Mendes 2.

And for the record i dont get why anyone gives a f--- if Conor talked his way into this title shot, anybody who says they would be more excited to see Aldo/Edgar 2 is a liar.

Talking certainly helped Conor get the title shot, but denying Conor's skills is just silly. Aldo is a perfect stylistic matchup for him. Conor has very good striking, and is bigger than Aldo (Aldo is bigger than Frank a former 155lb champ) imagine how much bigger Conor is than Frankie.
I hate the "who has he fought" argument. You could make that argument for most contenders. You have to look at the way he moves, fights, and finishes. He clearly has something special. He has amazing technique and confidence, is that enough to beat Aldo, a proven MMA Fighter? I don't know. Conor is not battle tested, he has crushed everyone in his path. He could end up like Pettis, and get smashed. Or he will continue his amazing streak.

Big Conor fan, but man, he better know what he's getting himself into. He's no fool though, he knows Aldo is a monster. Can't wait for this fight, its gonna be a war

    Points bet?? Serious?

WTF is that? (You can have all of my points if you wants points, even though I probably have none)

Frankie 100% deserves the title shot, however, the world deserves Frankie vs Faber. I prefer that fight over him fighting Aldo again, because he will take Aldo deep, but he won't win. I was critical on McGregor, but dude has proven himself as worthy as anyone else that hasn't already fought Aldo. Do I think he will win? I dunno anymore, I didn't, but I see a possibility more. He's just got a weird aura about him that no one can deny. He's not Chael, in the sense he just talks. Chael was decent, but he's not McGregor.

He knows Aldo is a tough dude, and deep down inside he respects everything he's done, but why would he act any other way then to try and be an absolute d-ck to Aldo and get in his head as much as possible. McGregor is a showmen, but he respects everyone, and even though it may cayuse people to hate him, it's part of the game.

d--- Cowboys boy Paul Felder is out of his fight with Jim Miller next month on Fox, they got a good replacement in Beneil Dariush though.

Sucks though, this was gonna be Felder's showcase fight.

    Couple other smaller injuries/news this week;

-Claudia Gadelha pulled out of fight against Aisling Daly in Poland. Almost certainly setting up Calerwood to earn a title shot in her home counrty of Scotland in July if she wins on that card.
-Alan Jouban out of his fight with Brian Ebersole in New Orleans, Omari Akhmedov will replace him.
-Nick Catone withdraws and retires from his fight against Vitor Miranda next month on UFC on Fox 15
-Kenny Robertson out of his fight against George Sullivan on Fox 15, Tim Means will replace him
-Claudio Silva out of his fight against Nordine Taleb at UFC 186, Chris Clements will replace him
-TUF Latin America BW winner Alejandro Perez will fight Patrick Williams in Mexico City
-Michael Chandler vs Derek Campos added to Shamrock/Kimbo card
-Cage Warriors WW champ Nicolas Dalby and Tom Breese have been signed by the UFC

Im not sure if anyone follows the European MMA scene but Cage Warriors appears to be done, which is kind of a bummer.

Agreed. The whole FW division should be thanking him for all the publicity they are now getting.

Aside from the Machida/Rockhold & Edgar/Faber fight I can pretty much swear off UFC until 187. No fights really interest me in these upcoming cards at all.

You're missing out then. No real big fights until then but i have interest in exciting match ups

    Virgina FN

    Mendes/Lamas
    Iaquinta/Masvidal
    Chiesa fight(always exciting)
Juliana Pena return(one of the most exciting chick fighters)
    Dustin Poirier UFC LW debut

    Poland FN

    Cro Cop/Gonzaga rematch(decent interest)
    Manuwa/Blachowicz
-rest of the card is pretty bad but Calderwood and Moraes fights somewhat interest me

    Machida vs Rockhold card

Jacare vs Romero? who isnt interested in that
    ditto Holloway/Swanson
Paige VanZant can sit on my face
-rest of the prelims are very good

    UFC 186

-Enjoy watching MM wreck ppl. Wouldnt pay for it but still, probably a next day torrent.
-Rampage vs Brawldonado will be entertaining if it happens
-marginal interest in Bisping vs Dollaway
-Makdessi vs Trujillo has violence written all over it
-Thomas Almeida is one of the best up and comers from Brazil, should wreck Jabouin
-Cote vs Riggs is an old school match up, both are kind of washed but might be fun.

    UFC FN Australia

    -Hunt vs Miocic????????????
-Whittaker vs Tavares-Whittaker just wrecked Clint Hester which is no small feat
-rest of the card has no real name value but the match ups are pretty good. Last Australia card had a finish in every fight this card could be similar

    UFC FN Manila

    -Mousasi/Costa is a good scrap
-Hyun Gyu Lim vs Magny-HGL is a savage and Magny has won 6 in a row
-rest of the card pretty much sucks

Honestly i like the seemingly new format the UFC is going with. Stack the s--- out of the PPV's and Fox shows and throw a couple decent fights on the other cards. Remember UFC 184 originally was awesome and 186 with Dillashaw/Barao 2 was still really good.

No way shocked at that, seen Conor's 2 cage warriors title fights here in Dublin

Always put on great shows and was great at breeding talent that went into the ufc
