@redsoxx Lol @ those pics. I was hoping you weren't replying and I was gonna post later cause my arguments were pretty lazy. His overall game obviously has a huge question mark over it for various reasons... I'm just not sure how fair it is to call his striking over-hyped. I mean he's a 4th dan black belt in kickboxing

Yes, cyborg is basically a can with a name tho lol. However, he's still a veteran who has had some decent wins.
In reality my mind says a good wrestler/well rounded fighter will expose him. I was actually explaining this to my friend who is his friend as she isn't the most knowledgeable person on the sport. Hopefully he goes to the UFC but it seems as though he's happy at bellator and might actually end up staying there when his contract runs out anyway

Wonderboy is one of my favorite fighters at the moment, but that Hendricks fight will only look less and less impressive the more we see Rig deteriorate. Still, he did pretty much shutdown Rory who everybody (including me) considers his biggest threat.

When people were saying this was a test for MVP, I realized how protected he was. I don't follow Bellator, but I watched that Awad guy beat the f--- out of Cyborg like 2 months ago. I think I've seen most of Koreshkov's fights going back to his Russian org days and always kind of discounted him for his s--- grappling. Glad to hear he's addressed it. If Rory leaves the UFC, at least we'll get to see him fight either Koreshkov or Askren. More interesting matches than anything left in the UFC for him imo. Askren might be the most wasted talent in MMA even though he got tuned up on his feet last fight and that shady a--- eye poke in the fight before.

What does everyone watch in terms of MMA? I watch all the UFC events but not all of Bellator, WSOF, and One FC. pick and choose a lot more with them. I watch a lot of fight analysis, listen to MMA podcasts, read articles etc so all of that on top of the UFC is usually enough for me. Also use the MMA subreddit daily which everyone should check out. Don't be deterred by it being on reddit... the community is very knowledgeable on MMA.

Also which forum or site do people use for MMA related stuff?

I try to catch as many UFC events as possible, it's hit or miss on all the other companies. Don't really listen to a lot of podcasts or anything like that, but I use r/mma, here, and Twitter for all of my news

All UFC events prelims and up I watch. DVR the Main Cards for all Bellator, WSOF, AXS shows (RFA, Legacy FC, CES etc.), a lot of the Fight Pass exclusive Live shows (EFN, Titan, Invicta mostly) and then some of the European promotions that stream their shows on Saturday afternoons like Cage Warriors (on Fight Pass now) BAMMA, ACB, M-1. A lot of the time i have these shows on as like background noise, i'm not really full engaged in them. I FFWD/Skim through a lot of fights for smaller promotions, because there's not enough time to really watch all these fights + i watch other sports/TV shows obviously.

I post on Sherdog but i'm rarely in the MMA threads, mostly in the NFL/MLB/NBA threads. Reddit MMA is my new go to for MMA related s---, too much filler at Sherdog. I watch the MMA Hour, but i can't get through the full 4 hour show like i used to anymore. Sometimes I listen to Rogan's podcast when an MMA fighter is on it, been meaning to check out Fighter & The Kid but haven't yet.

Besides UFC, I try to catch ONE FC, EBI, Invicta, some AXS TV cards (mainly EFN), Lion Fight, Glory, and boxing. Bellator when I remember to DVR it. I've seen the occasional M-1, Legacy, Victory, or Titan card. Even some lesser orgs than that like Mixed Martial A'rr which took place on the deck of a cruise ship. UFC and ONE are the only ones I make sure to see live every time I can.

Podcast wise, I like Co-Main Event and Heavy Hands. I use /r/MMA and /heem/. Really only read Jack Slack's articles semi-consistently. Follow a couple channels on YouTube like MMA Digest, Tristar, and Compufighter.

@tomroe93 yeah reddit is great for news. Always very fast with the news and covers a lot.

@redsoxx I envy the fact that MMA is on tv in the states a lot. I still probably wouldn't be able to find the time to watch everything and would likely skip a lot of the fights lower on the cards too tho. AXS almost seems like the MMA channel. Am subbed to them on youtube so i see some segments with Bas. And yeah that's what I like about the MMA subreddit... the voting system filters out a lot of bs for you.

@Charlie firas is great. the co-main event podcast is good too. no MMA hour tho? lol @ Mixed Martial A'rr. wasn't sure if joking so had to google. Jack Slack always has interesting articles too. It often takes me a long time to get through them so I'm able to take it all in properly.

It's a shame more discussion doesn't go on in this thread. Seems to have picked up a little lately tho.

sorry for the double post but...

Nice to see that after the show is all over.

Nate Diaz donated 100 dollars and Chael donated 250. I've heard many stories about chael paying for fighters medical bills but he never actually mentions doing so in the media. Even if Bellator covers Cyborg's medical bills it's nice to see him get further compensated because his career is most likely over. The fans in this sport often get a lot of flack but honestly the MMA community is generally pretty awesome.

Really weird that we don't have a Main Event for the Vancouver FOX show on August 27th. Have a feeling they are either gonna scrap that one or just turn it into a Fight Pass show and go with the Pettis/Oliveira Main Event.

Feel a little better about the TUF winner getting a crack at DJ now. Either way probably half these guys end up in the UFC and we have some fresh faces in the FLW division.
