Was looking for Bonds highlights and came across this, think anyone in today's game would get intentionally walked with the bases loaded? Maybe, gotta admit this is as good a spot as any if you're gonna do it though. They were up 8-6 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th bases loaded with Bonds up. They figure there's a decent chance Bonds homers or doubles and both those would probably win the game, or at least tie it if it's a double and the guy on 1st isn't fast. So they take their chances with the next guy.

This was even before Bonds had his 73 HR year, and I think it was before he took steroids too.

The best hitters in the game are usually not protected by a can like Brent Mayne. Its like if Ryan Hanigan was hitting behind Big Papi in that situation, no pitcher is gonna pitch to him whether its an "intentional" walk or not. This was before they moved Jeff Kent behind Bonds and even when they did that teams were still putting Bonds on, but i dunno if they would in this situation if Kent were hitting behind him.

Goofy Smile staying in Queens, Mets send Dilson Herrera and a pitcher to the Reds for Bruce. Don't really mind, Dilson didn't do much the times that he was called up. Lucroy to the Rangers tho, d---.

I prefer that Dombrowski didn't trade the entire farm system in one calendar year anyways. Moncada and Benintendi are both top 5 prospects who will be up next year, making them by far the best lineup in baseball even with Papi retiring (they'll probably sign Encarnacion or Trumbo to replace him).

I don't really like this Sox team much, they're like the anti-13" team. Not clutch, terrible in close games and dead in the water down late in games (yes i realize they came back against the awful Angels last night).
