Feb 3, 2017 Finally! I just bought an Internal HD last month but haven't popped it in yet. Looks like i'll return it now. (tbh the reason I've waited so long was because I was scared shitless of doing all that s--- myself lol with my luck i'd f--- up my whole PS4.) http://www.theverge.com/circuitbrea...4-external-hard-drive-support-software-update
Feb 3, 2017 amazing i bought 2 seagate 2TB drives for my ps4 but neither of them worked when i put them in, so i just didnt bother trying anymore but this is great
Feb 3, 2017 lmao that's exactly what I bought. I'll put in my return to Amazon right now then lol. Thx bruh
Feb 4, 2017 It's really simple to switch out internal HDD on the ps4. Switch to a 2 TB years ago and takes about 5 minutes. The most annoying part is reinstalling games. But this is a nice feature to add for gamers.
Feb 6, 2017 That's a really awesome update. I bought a 2tb to switch out the 1tb that came with the pro, but all i need to do is buy an external case and i can use the 1tb that originally came with it also..
Feb 7, 2017 Just read this about the new update: The cinematic mode resolution is greatly improved.. I always thought it looked really blurry so this a huge plus.. Also not confirmed but people are saying the screen res in general, in vr games is improved.. Wish i had the beta..
Feb 10, 2017 any idea when they're going to release this update? got my external all set and ready to go
Feb 10, 2017 No specific date...in beta now and should be available "within the next few weeks" Last week Sony announced their new PlayStation 4 system software update coming to the console in the weeks ahead and currently being tested in beta. There was a whole host of incredible new features announced (more on that below), but one new addition caught a lot of attention. The new update allows PS4 users to use an external hard drive on the PS4 as a storage for applications and games. Oddly, this is a feature Xbox and even Nintendo Wii-U customers have been able to utilise for quite some time. However, beta testers have now discovered a secret about this new feature which Sony neglected to mention during their announcement. According to JustPushStart, players can only use one hard drive at a time. "Upon checking if I can use my other hard drive, I was saddened to see that I was only limited to use only one hard drive," wrote Mark Fajardo on JustPushStart. "Yes, it’s a nice feature to be able to finally use an external hard drive as an alternative to expanding my storage, but I was hoping it would be like the Xbox One where I could use multiple hard drives." The hope, for now, is that this core feature can be tweaked whilst in beta so that when the new console features are rolled out to the wider public, that users will be able to use more than one external hard drive.
Feb 20, 2017 @Ordinary Joel @Sleepy does PS4 support external hard drives to download/play games? Just got one cause I assumed it did but having trouble getting it going.
Feb 20, 2017 Would you guys suggest Dark Souls 2 Scholar Of The Sin? It's on sale I think for $14.99 right now on PSN for PS4.
