A.there was contact when one player wasn't even attempting to get the ball
B. The player intentionally threw himself in the path of neymar, if neymar jumped over the player completely(not diving) and didn't get the ball, the foul and card would have been given regardless for illegal obstruction and diving tackles, the later being an instant yellow or red card.

But lol, i just remembered m8, Ronaldo vs Sevilla was it? Exact same scenario, (with ronnie diving before the contact) and the penalty was rightfully given.
So what's your point?

I never said that wasn't a pen, but the push in neymar's back was a penalty uncalled which neymar got carded for.

Yeah, but he win's more pen's that way than messi getting dragged to the ground and staying on his feet. If a team is using minor fouls as a tactic, can ANYONE complain about penalty calls?

I agree in the top level with so much money involved it is madness there isn't a video referee.
But it would cost Uefa & Fifa more money so they don't want it to happen.

I'm all up for it and against it, it would be decisive but it would take away a long-standing tradition and the talking points after the games wouldn't be as entertaining.

I don't like it, as much as RM has made an artform of exploiting s-----y refs , the ref being human gives a hidden dynamic to the game. PSG based their game plan around minor fouls, and Neymar and suarez were trying to pull everything from it. It would be a big blow to traditional defending if defenders couldn't get away with some sneaky fouling.

Barca have been f----- as much as we have gotten out of jail from s--- refereeing. The media and us cules like to s--- on madrid about it because they have players who have mastered exploiting referee's. Nobody really buy's ref's anymore. It's just a part of the game that invites this kind of banter. And what would football be without banter?
