You still think he has declined? Amazing performance on Sunday, but It's only one match... I think that he'll have a great season though.

United looking deadly, this will be our year.

Sorry guys i was banned, so i couldn't share the L's.

People seem to be over-blowing the result without really looking at why we lost. In the first half the game was locked at 0-0. The reason for this was because RM was pressing high and we were mostly defending.

The problem for RM was that our defense was simply too solid. Pique had all of the passing lanes covered, our midfield was providing enough cover, and Umtiti had bale in the back pocket.
The problem for Barcelona was however than even though we were more than capable of passing through the pressure, we weren't fast enough to launch an attack before they could properly retreat and defend. They simply outran us. Another problem was that they played with a compressed 4 man midfield and maintained a strong central presence forcing us to play wide where without Neymar, we haven't yet gotten used to life without him and would be less effective this early in the season.

It's a really under-appreciated tactical masterclass by Zidane, and had our CB's not been so flawless in the first half, we would have had more to deal with than that single bale shot ter-stegen easily blocked.

Come the second half and disaster strikes. Pique makes a mistake and scores an own goal. This means we are forced to press. In comes Denis Suarez for the horribly performing Delofeu, and what do you know, right after he comes on, we start launching multiple attacks directly from the flanks and Madrid are pressed in their own half. In that attacking period, Madrid launched around 3 real counter attacks. 2 of them scored, both from the right side, with pique getting beaten.

Valverde was right. I think the margin was not really as far as the scoreline suggests. It undermines the great performances of Umtiti, Alba (seriously, he had a good game), and Denis Suarez, who won and took 5 decent corner, got fouled in the box and could have won a penalty, if he didn't recover, beat Varane and pass to busquets 6 yards in front of an empty net.

Madrid played to their strengths while attacking our 2 biggest weaknesses. The left side of attack (fixed after denis came on) and the right side of defense (where all 3 goals played from).

Madrid outplayed us, but i don't think there's reason to overreact or panic. It's the best team in the world in better tactical shape (they don't have a new manager) than us and we had chances to win. Denis somewhat fixes our left side and adds things Neymar didn't which was supportive midfield play, and better link up play with Alba. Neslinho should give better defensive support in RB than Vidal . As for central control, Rakitic is more of a liability at current form, and Roberto would not only give more defensive cover, but more energetic runs to support messi on the right side and he's much better going wide if messi drops centrally. We won't have the xavi control (unless we get a controller or use messi there) but all the other problems in the squad seem to be easily solved by players we already have. Peoblem is they aren't being used properly, and i think Valverde acknowledged that when he said "lets look at what we have here".

Sid lowe said it himself. It isn't really personal that makes madrid better than us, it's how Zidane gets better out of them.

For anyone who didn't bother reading
    TLDR
Nelson should play over Vidal, Denis should (and unless dembele comes, WILL) be our main RW, and Sergi Roberto or Samper should be starting over Rakitic. Munir is a slower Denis suarez with IMO slightly better technique and better shooting. and can easily deal with weaker teams in easier matches. Our squad isn't less talented than madrid, it's less experienced, and badly managed

    It's not a lack of players. It's :
    1. Breaking out of the MSN dependence.
    2. Using and developing the young talent instead of wasting it
    3. Not having s--- or one dimensional tactics.
    4. Getting the players rotated and in form, like zidane does.

Yeah we could have had a midfield of full potential Roberto, Rafinha and Thiago. We could have been sharing iniesta's wine on the bench while the veterans relax. Instead we have them being overworked and falling off form.

What do you think we should do with paulinho doe.
I say the the next board should outright terminate his (and arda's) contract immediately. He's just an older and slightly better Gomes with less potential.

I think we could even keep gomes as that physical presence while iniesta and busi teach him how to pass a ball. He could be barca's fellani or a pogba lite lol.

You know how we normally troll and say the board are madridistas?
There's apparently some real evidence that some of the board are indeed Madrid friendly.

@Flacko can we have a classico section for barca/madrid fans

Also, holy flying f---, that lineup.

It's feels slightly r-----ed, but at the same time genius. More defensive cover and more condensed midfield.

He's winning and still acts like a salty loser.

You guys are the best team in the world lol, why do you still have this inferiority complex to messi.
