    I was talking to a buddy about Messi and CR last week and I said, man how cool would it be if they both retire, that they have a goodbye match together.

    And they play at the same team just for one match, or one half. And the 2nd half against eachother or smt like that. Would LOVE to see them play together just once.

    @Enigma thoughts?

    Messi the is the goat.
    He just has more to his game than Ronaldo. Better passing & dribbling. & can conduct the play. Ronaldo is just a finisher right now

    Ronaldo still great obviously but I have always thought Messi is better

    Maybe because he scored 4 goals and 5 assist in the tournament.

    He was the MVP, the best scorer and the best assister.

    Yup. Messi is simply the better footballer. He’s retiring as the GOAT to the majority of the football world. Only way public opinion could be largely swayed is if cristiano wins the world cup since that would be huge. Other than that. There’s not really anything else to change people’s minds.

    I’m a CR7 fan so I’ll always say he is better...and my GOAT...Messi is unbelievable too...but it’s all opinions...debate forever but who cares....I’m a CR7 fan....they are both unbelievable...I’m glad I got to see them both play in their prime....watched CR7 get a hat trick against Switzerland in person....unreal watching him live...want to to catch a Messi Barcelona game before his run is over...

    His teammates did it for him. They said as much before/during the tournament. Look at who they all ran toward after the final whistle. This was always going to be about Messi.

    Best part: is this by far his worst finals performance. Didn’t play his best by any means. A bit poetic justice after carrying Argentina for so long & coming up short, they final collectively step up & win it all. Also, makes you wonder how those other finals would have went if Di Maria had been able to play in them lol.


    Would be shocked if they ever play on the same squad together. My friend was telling me: imagine a Portugal vs Argentina World Cup Final next year. Would be the most anticipated/watched football game ever.

    England is basically non existent in this game.

    Italy played way better, they just need to create more chances in the second half and we have this in the bag.
