Chelsea were very close to signing Neymar in 2010. Pele told him not to.

    *beware 16 min video! ;D

Today is a significant for Australian Football fan. 10 years ago today Australia qualified for the 2006 world cup. This was honestly the turning point on how we looked at the sport. Beforehand Soccer was looked as a sport for p-----s and a lot of people would make fun of it (still is today, but mildly).

My personal experience from this moment: My uncle lives in London and already aligned me to Chelsea, but I didn't care at the time, 2005/06 was when I started to form an interest in Soccer. Even though I was playing it at the time, I was really counting the years to convert to Aussie Rules because my parents thought it was too rough at my age.

It's a pretty good video, it's not really an emotion one, but it got me tearing a bit. :emoji_cry:

I'm just gonna leave this here.

Leo Messi wants £600,000-a-week Arsenal move; Real eager to sell CR7
TOP STORY: How much for Messi?
How much is Lionel Messi worth on the open market? It's tough to quantify just what the Barcelona star would be worth if he were to exit the Camp Nou, but the Star has an answer -- £600,000 a week.

The paper reports that Messi is "open to a move to England after falling foul of the tax authorities in Spain," with Arsenal "his preferred destination" for a life of luxury in London.

But wait, Gunners fans; there's a catch. ... The Star says that Messi would want a ridiculous £18 million a year after tax, which equates to around £2.4m a month before deductions.

Arsene Wenger has shown with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil that he's not afraid to tempt expensive talent from La Liga, but Messi's £175m-release clause and astronomical wages would surely mean that Manchester United, Man City and Chelsea are the only Premier League clubs capable of pulling off such a deal.

There's been more than a few that have reported this. Obviously highly unlikely due to the 175 million release clause, but a man can dream right?

Wenger almost signed him as a teenager. Him preferring us to the other PL clubs is enough for me tbh.

@Flacko In all likelihood Messi is just leveraging a big pay raise at Barca.
