Jul 6, 2015 This season has been a little slow, but I'm really enjoying it. Reminds me of a better version of The Killing. I have a feeling the payoff will be huge & unexpected. This is all a setup. Still waiting for a scene comparable to this epic one from last season:

Jul 6, 2015 Eh, just slightly. Something tells me there's a much larger entity at play, probably paranormal. There have been SO many coincidences (especially in that first episode) for everything to just be happenstance. If not, it's been the laziest writing I've ever seen. Spoiler I was 99% sure he wasn't going to be dead. Colin Farrell is too important to k--- off in the 2nd episode. RIP Stan tho
Jul 6, 2015 Spoiler yeah, i mean... i assumed that too. still, i rolled my eyes at the explanation, and the fact they tried to trick us into thinking they might k--- off their main character. like, that's the beauty of these anthology miniseries so just do it. i hope you're right, but my gut says its just bad writing. the only thing i'm holding out for is the fact ray's shooter was wearing a bird on his head -- possible connection to the cult from season 1?
Jul 7, 2015 This season pales in comparison to the first in every category. The characters are so over the top. Obviously the trooper is gay as f---. Rachel McAdams is uninteresting. Vince Vaughn is aight. Colin's character is awesome though. Him beating up that kid's dad in the first episode was so f----- up but hilarious to me. a--- pen lmao. Then he just took off to go get f---in' drunk. Ready to find out what he did to the guy who r---d his ex.
Jul 7, 2015 Just watched through season 1 in one night and holy f--- what a good show. I had been putting off watching it since I bought it for father's today but as soon as it started I couldn't stop..it was also really cool to hear and the names of the parishes/cities I grew up in. My only gripe is I wish they would have done some specific scenery spots in the actual towns..from what I could see I didn't recognize any landmarks of Abbeville or erath

Jul 12, 2015 I find myself more excited for Ballers than True Detective at this point. Last season, it was the 4th episode when TD really became great, so I'll stay optimistic for now.

Jul 13, 2015 Vaughn has picked it up. Second favorite character on the show now behind McAdams. I honestly think the reception for this would be a lot better if it was the first season of a new show. Last night came close
