What do you guys think about the brand split??? I don't remember much about when they did it in the past. I personally don't like it but we will see how it goes.....

I like it. It gives guys that usually get lost in the shuffle a chance to shine.

Melzter is saying there will be two belts again instead of just the one unified belt

Strongly hope that Reigns is the leader of the smackdown side so I don't have to see him on raw anymore. I also hope Rollins and Owens stay on raw.

This is what they need to avoid.

No red shirt/blue shirt crap...no meaningless feuds between the two brands.

Use smackdown to elevate Owens/Fin/Anderson as main event stars of the company. Keep Cena/Roman/Dean on Raw and make Smackdown as WRESTLING show like it was in '02 when Paul was running it and was the superior product because it (mostly) didn't have any cheesy crap on it.

Agree that they need to avoid the raw vs SD s--- for survivor series but really doubt they will, just seems so easy to do that. The raw vs. SD thing is so played out to me by now lol, hope they don't over do that.

So if I'm not mistaken, some of the PPVs are raw only, some SD only and then the big 4 are both?

I assume so...now that PPVs are basically all just Network specials and they dont have to worry about SD only shows getting low buyrates like the last time around.

Plus I read too part of the reason why they're doing this (other the obvious big reasons) is to Be able to have more guys get PPVs matches now that guys are coming back from injury and NXT ppl are coming up. With only 6 or 7 matches being on a PPV a lot of guy are gonna be bumped and if you're not building a match for the next PPV you're not going get tv time on Raw.

I didn't hate the brand split. 2003 Smackdown was easily one of the best years in the history of the company. I've enjoyed Edge, Taker, Batista, JBL, Booker T, even in the later years the Punk/Jeff feud was gold in a time that was really s---. Can't forget Eddie either. I miss Eddie.

Only issue I have is injuries can derail this so badly. Actually, I have another issue, the writers. They can't do Raw well, can they do another two hours of live television well?

That was my thinking too, the only thing that makes me feel a little better is that the head writer of NXT is moving to be the new head writer on SD...gives me hope it will be a more wrestling centric show...plus im so stoked for Mauro calling a show that matters and real PPV matches...hopfully they take Byron off SD too.

Mauro is great. I don't regularly watch Smackdown and when he called the Extreme Rules preshow I was thinking to myself the commentaters actually seem invested. Before they cut to break, here comes Michael Cole and the rest of the show I had to listen to him gargle meatloaf and say Jawn every five minutes.
