    there are a few that im not in love with yet, like these walls, but yeah...nothing on here is actually bad like "real" or "compton"

    and everything really seems like it fits :idk:

    hood politics is my favorite by far, i love the democrat republican red state blue state line that s--- is dope

    King Kunta is my favorite track on the album.

    I like All Day more than King Kunta.

    So there's that.





    This isn't necessarily a bad thing. TPAB is not a real Hip Hop album. It doesn't play well in the car. It's not great background music. No one song is going to be my ringtone. It's is a wonderful musical that needs to be listened to in its entirety or not at all.

    Am I going to listen to TPAB frequently? No, but I'm glad Kendrick is pushing the genre.

    Nah, you didn't seem like that at all. You're calling it as you see it, and you absolutely should do that. I appreciate hearing what people not so keen on it have to say as long as they're explaining their opinions like you are. I love the album, but the circlejerk is obnoxious from both sides and it's making me not even want to post in this thread. Like, can we have a discussion about this without calling it "wretched" or "better than Kanye's discography"? Because neither are accurate qualifiers.

    I dunno, other than the Pac interview and a few choice moments, I don't really see the album as heavy-handed or self-important. Most of it utilizes absurdity and/or dark humor (like the "If I were president" part you mentioned he's talking about driving chevys and getting high on the whitehouse lawn. I don't really find that heavy-handed. It's an absurd image).

    The thing I like about GKMC & TPAB is that both albums are "albums", sure you can skip around, but they are at their best when experienced from front to back.

    This is where GKMC has the edge over TPAB imo. You can play a bunch of tracks off GKMC as stand alone tracks in the car, at the gym, at parties wherever. TPAB doesnt have those stand alone tracks but as a whole it is absolutely phenomenal.
