    Couldn't agree more. I think the concept of a "soulmate" or even love itself has been greatly romanticized by movies, music, and tv.

    Trust has to be earned.

    I certaintly would never 100% trust someone I don't know very well. But important not be too cynical.
    Has to be a balance like many things in life.

    We as a society have instilled a convoluted doctrine of “if you’re lonely, you’re miserable!” that couldn’t be anymore erroneous

    Too each their own, there are benefits to committing yourself to another half & likewise, to echo everything my brudda @Enigma said, to just sticking around and going solo. Being absolutist in any shape or format denies you the chance to look at different perspectives. Break the cycle and live your lives on your own terms!

    In my case, I’m honestly fiercely independent to a fault, the idea of spending my life with another person just...doesn’t appeal to me.

    Also when people say 'its or isnt my type' I cringe.

    Like there's nu such thing. I liked and dated so many different women. Sometimes it clicks sometimes it doesnt. But to have one type is bs lol

    Nah I think people definitely have types, but it's more subconscious than anything...not that you can't notice it (esp after the fact). And that doesn't mean you have to date a certain type, just that you tend to fall for a certain type.

    Dating to marry is dumb. You put so much pressure & expectations on your relationship, it’s almost like you’re setting it up to fail. Dating is all about experiences & growth. If that takes you to marriage so be it but just because a relationship doesn’t end in marriage, doesn’t make it a failed experiment.

    Get the f--- out of here, if you had a good time together and it ended in a break up, that doesn't change the good times u had w the other person.

    Traveling sucks. It has become a modern cool thing to do and people think the more countries they visit the more interesting they are. In reality, all they did was bring their same old boring self to a different location, haven't learned anything and haven't changed. I consider anyone who has an urge to travel around whenever they have free time a boring person who can't live with themselves.

    There's so much to pick apart here. I am a photographer so I am either travelling around for work or to take photos. Does that make me boring? I don't know.

    -1/10 opinion tbh. I mean people travel for different reasons. It could be for work, experience different culture, enjoy different weather etc. Most people aren’t soul searching or trying to change themselves through traveling.

    Agreed. I literally hate people who live for vacations. I love my life and the last thing I want to do is go away from it. I also hate the #catchflightsnotfeelings crowd.
