Hey man, I actually haven't listened yet, probably won't until the weekend or so either. Got a crazy week going on right now, what'd you think of it though?

I think Tech is declining in his career as far as quality content goes. The Bears are lazy. There is 4-5 good songs but no classics. Definitely his worst solo effort to date in my opinion.

d--- that's disappointing, I haven't even cared much for his recent stuff so not too optimistic about this either.

Don't be. You know you and I both have been huge fans since we've been bullshittin' at Rap Basement. I would compare Tech and his recent work to Call of Duty. It was completely original and amazing a while ago, but now, it's like they ran out of ideas and it's the same regurgitated content year after year and I just feel like I'm getting tired of the same thing over and over again. When will people realize that less is MORE. Do we need a collaboration on every single song? Do we need 87 tracks per album? Not if means every song feels rushed and without quality content and subject matter. I'd rather have an album full of 12 classics like Low, Alone, Red Nose than an album of 32 average tracks at best.

When Tech has something to talk about, he is unstoppable. Just look at this recent feature track called Out There. The quality is there, the subject matter, the lyrics, h--- you can hear the emotion in his d--- voice. These recent albums have almost nothing. Now we get full songs about stupid inside jokes between Tech and his crew like Chilly Rub, No K, and weefee. This s--- is embarrassing!

The same can be said about Seven. He used to be one of my favorite producers and has a unique sound that matches Tech perfectly. But know he produces every Strange Artist albums, and he seems way over worked and also running out of ideas. I'd rather them reach out to other producers and leave 3-4 songs for Seven and let him continue to work on them rather than rush them out. Even if he had to sit on them for a while.

If I had to describe the state of the music in one sentence it would be "lazy lyrics and lazy production"

d--- I couldn't have said it better my friend. These are my thoughts to a T. That call of duty analogy is spot on haha.
The only thing that we disagree on his Special Effects. I saw it as a little shimmering light amongst his recent turds. I liked it better than both all 6s and 7s and leap years ahead of Something Else. The storm is abysmal other than 5 decent tracks.

I am pissed he used "The Storm" as the title. it would have been better if he used back then instead of Everready or K.o.d
I expected more deep, personal songs like or similar to "out there" and or a similar to Aw yeah and k.o.d, the way i am, fragile, breathe and happy ending type of tracks on an album called the storm.

maybe it's just me but i am worn out on hearing yet again more tracks that talk about partying, drinking, smoking weed and f---ing; that i don't even count them as part of the albums anymore. i wish he would re use some old flows. i wish a lot of rappers would re use old flows. you don't have to come up with new flows on every song or album in my opinion.

And yeah, i think he should just start doing songs for tv shows, movies and game soundtracks or something or retire. pass the torch and help the lower strange music artist. like brotha lynch and big scoob and mckenzie. especially scoob. could always use some new scooby tracks.

Yeah you guys are all right on the money here, Tech putting out material so fast is basically why I lost interest. It's no surprise that I consider Everready his best album and it's also the one he seemed to take the longest on.

h---, even the songs recorded during that time that didn't make the album are a lot better than almost all his recent s---.

Like you guys said tech just has nothing to talk about when he's making music this fast. I lost interest 2-3 albums ago and doesn't seem it'll be coming back anytime soon. I read a lot of feedback on his facebook page and most people there seem to love the album, so I guess he's pleasing some fans still.

It was a h--- of a run. A glorious run infact. But all good things must come to an end. Tech was that no name rapper that caught everyone's attention. His time has clearly came and passed. The fifteen years that I've been a tech fan were amazing. The shows, the alcohol I drank, the house party's. Tech did his thing and I'm perfectly fine that he fell off. Technician till I die.

Yeah, this album is pretty d--- bad. All 6's and 7's is my favorite Tech album, and Something Else was disappointing. I don't dislike that album at all, and has some of my favorite Tech songs, but after 6's/7's it just wasn't as good. Special Effects was really awesome to me though, I loved it until the last few tracks so the majority I liked a lot. This... this is just bad. I think I like less than 5 tracks even. I barely even remember them at all. Its just boring.

Supposedly a Collabo's album is coming in the Spring and another Tech solo next fall. Like dude, please just relax.

Ok so these are the only songs I think I've listened to more than once.

Godspeed-An okay track. Nothing special but probably the worst chopper track on a solo album ever. Don't really understand it though. He makes fun of shitth rapping and auto tune but then has saffron on a few songs... 6/10?

Need Jesus- best song on the album. Loved Stevie on the hook, loved the beat, loved JL's verse and techs verse/flow. 8.5/10

Wifi- hate me. Fun beat, good rhyme schemes, and 3 FULL verses OMG!!!
    6/10

Poisoning the well- good track overall. Unique beat. 8/10

Till I'm gone- I'm getting too lazy to explain why but this song is at least listenable. 7/10

The needle- great sample but apathy did it better. 7/10

Every other song I will probably never listen to again. They range from about a 0/10 to about a 3/10

Overall album is a about a 3/10 seeing as there are 33 tracks looooool

Yeah I was gonna say maybe it's the usual bs about an artist hyping his latest album, but I don't recall Tech making such a strong statement about any of his albums in the past, could be wrong though.

Plus if he was just doing it to hype the album, you'd think that would have made more sense before it was released, not after.

Won't lie that actually sounds pretty dope. I really think JL shines on features with Tech. They have a good track record together. Actually h--- I feel like JL does better on features than solo s---. I freakin love the Ces Cru song "get that" feat JL.

Edit: super gay album name though. Jesus he already has more albums planned...I have a REALLY bad feeling about this...haha

That snippet sounds better than most of songs on The Storm tbh.

Agree, JL been dope since I remember, he's probably one of my favorites from Strange camp. Let's see what's next with the boy.

I've given the album plenty of listens. Need Jesus is the best track by far.

Other tracks that have grown on me a lot of Wifi, Poisoning the Well, No Running to Ya Mama, The Needle, What If It Was Me, Fuh What, Choosin, Gridlock, Wet, and We're Not Sorry. All things considered, I'm actually happy with that selection. I actually even bought the album today.

Is it his best album? Definitely not. But, I think there's room somewhere of average territory. I've given the album a 5/10, where 5 is average and not failing of course.

Edit: I'm also of the opinion that getting an album every year is better than an album every 2+ years because I'm never going to like every song on an album. JL's Brain Scatter was a close exception to that though.
