Mar 4, 2015 This is exactly what me and CA just said though, just a few inches above this post. Sometimes you gotta get Narsh riled up. It lets him expend all his energy so he calms down for a little.
Mar 4, 2015 I'm not twisting what you're saying -- I"m saying you're jumping into a conversation about just the directing and bringing up a lot of other factors. As far as Jimmy's clients -- I preferred it the way it is. It showed how he got the idea to try to "go straight" again and get into Elder Law. The lethargic feel of those scenes, the mundanity someone like Jimmy needs to deal with in those moments, all establishes a very necessary contrast in my opinion -- in the future, he'll be BEGGING for this kind of life. The show also does enough montages lol, so I don't think another one was necessary there. Could it have been done -- sure. But did the way it was done have a purpose? Of course it did. I think you're misconstruing the "sharper and more stark" comments lol -- those aren't about the directing from a quality POV I'm talking about stylistic choices. The departure from BB's sort of grittiness and realism to something much more sleek i think you guys are jumping the gun on your "narsh says things too soon so he must be wrong!!" shtick I addressed that BCS doesn't have standout moments as far as directing is concerned (although I disagree a bit there too...the shot of the billboard after the fake rescue, the opening to the show with Saul watching his old commercials, etc, are all very note-worthy). You're right that doesn't yet -- it could in the future for sure. But, as I said, my point was that it's consistently being creative and engaging with it's directing -- every episode so far, last one included (even if that wasn't it's strongest asset).
Mar 4, 2015 I don't it lol I know I 100% defend every opinion I have. While like 9/10 people trying to give me s--- either fail, or don't defend what they have to say at all. ..or they try to and it shows that they aren't even really mad at me/anything ive actually said to begin with plus, we are discussing the show at hand so its all good as far as im concerned. Cept you cited a bunch of stuff I never said, and when I pointed that out, didn't respond! but its all good, sometimes you gotta let Worm get his jokes out so he doesn't get too thrown off
Mar 4, 2015 yeah, this sums it up. Half backpedal, half I just don't agree. I'll leave it at that lol.
Mar 4, 2015 Missed this lol. Didn't I just tell nogger that not quoting someone is a sign of defeat!? All Day is better than every song on IYRT...that doesn't take me weeks to figure out. And, like I said, if me getting "too excited" ever actually led to some disappointments or me being wrong...id stop but hey, its usually about like kanye, or breaking bad, or something else equally ***flawless so it's turned out alright
Mar 4, 2015 I hate it when @Worm makes fun of me it's like if your favorite comedian called you out in the middle of the crowd to s--- on your haircut or some s---
Mar 4, 2015 also @captain awesome you can bet im gonna yell at you about this s--- on ur show this weekend lol
Mar 4, 2015 Overall it's much too early to call BCS a classic. Without even one season under its belt, pretending it's somehow anything but really good is a stretch. I've loved every episode so far to be clear. The AV Club shat all over the newer episode, but a lot of their complaints (the same complaints I see argued here) come from difference of opinion as opposed to legitimate issues with the writing. For example, the complaint about the beginning dragging on doesn't sit right with me. How my schedule at school works, allows me to watch most of these episodes with my parents. They were laughing very hard at the start, harder than they've laughed the whole season thus far. And the magic number in filmmaking is 3, so it's not as if the direction to show these clients was a poor one. And people have also complained that it focused a lot on his brother. It's a plot line that would have easily worn out its welcome if it wasn't addressed at this point. It sets up the dynamic between his brother and his old firm nicely.
Mar 4, 2015 I dont really see anyone calling it a classic tho? also I think his brother's gonna be a GREAT character, so Im happy about his extra screen time.
Mar 4, 2015 Did anybody think the emphasis on this street sign was potential Classic Gilligan Foreshadowing
Mar 4, 2015 ya. they focused on that for roughly 10 seconds, definitely going to play at least a minor role in the future
Mar 4, 2015 I wouldn't be surprised if the pink bear makes an appearance sooner or later but without all the damage
Mar 5, 2015 Probably my least favorite episode so far. Can't stand the story line with his brother. I hope it ends sooner than later.
