Mar 11, 2015 How often did Mike and Saul interact on Breaking Bad? Given the amount of s--- they clearly went through together.... Really enjoying this show so far guys!
Mar 11, 2015 Last episode was by far best of the series. Was there ever any word on whether Gus would show up in this show?
Mar 11, 2015 Not yet, but I can see them going down that road to elaborate more on the mysteries left from BB
Mar 13, 2015 I'm not suggesting that the show was lacking in any sense but from what I can remember from BB it took at least a season or so before I was really hooked to the point of obsession
Mar 13, 2015 Yesterday after work i tried to get my brother to watch Better Call Saul, He was a huge Breaking Bad fan, so he didnt want to watch Better Call Saul, incase it damaged how he viewed Breaking Bad. I just wanted him to see a small bit of it, but as soon as he saw the dudes f---ing the head, he was hooked lmao. He watched all of the episodes in one go.
Mar 13, 2015 Finally watched the newest episode. Comment from the /r/bettercallsaul episode discussion thread that really stood out to me: "I'm getting really sad now, thinking back to Mike's relationship with Jesse in Breaking Bad."
Mar 13, 2015 ahhh god you're so right. i didn't even think about this episode enough tbqh. ive been trying to let better call saul breath as its own entity, but yeah this is 100% intentional. mike failing one son (in his eyes) and then trying his best to save another...jesse definitely went from like walt's makeshift son, to mike's throughout the course of BB
Mar 13, 2015 I'm glad that they're solving mysteries and giving us answers to things they never addressed in Breaking Bad, but rly hoping they don't give us ALL of the answers. Some things are better left off not being touched upon
Mar 14, 2015 I didn't know what to expect when the spin off was announced, especially with talk of a thirty minute comedy, but it has been incredible. Last episode in particular was PHENOMENAL. I was hoping they would dive into Mike's past in Philadelphia ever since Hank mentioned it in "Madrigal" and I was NOT disappointed. Loving this show, and how it ties into the BB universe.
Mar 15, 2015 Agree with prison mike, "Five-O" was brilliant. It felt like you could slot that episode into one of the Breaking Bad seasons and it would fit nicely (as we already had some Gus back story which worked well during Season 4). I wonder if we are to meet Gus during BCS, we know that Saul tells Walt in BrBa that he "knows a guy, who knows a guy..who knows another guy", so I guess this means that Saul doesn't know Gus himself, but I guess if we are delving into BrBa territory as well as not just sticking to Jimmy's story ("Five-O" for example) then I guess we could see some more familiar characters down the line. Not that I think it's needed, this show will stand and is standing good on it's own without the need for cameos, but if Gould and Gilligan can tie it all up and we see how certain things developed then that has the potential to be great.
Mar 15, 2015 Finally got round to watching this. God d--- this was an amazing episode and my favourite so far. Mike was always one of the most liked characters in Breaking Bad in my opinion, and was certainly one of my favourites. Seeing Mike as a broken man with the guilt and heartbreak over losing his child is something I can relate to, and made an emotional episode more emotional for me personally. The way the episode was made, felt and looked I felt like I was watching an episode of Breaking Bad. I completely forgot I was watching Better Call Saul.
