Mar 30, 2015 I happen to come across someone on a site who mentioned that it might happen, and the more I thought about it, the more logical it sounded so that they could deal with the Pete situation. Didn't expect it to happen though
Mar 30, 2015 I actually saw someone from this forum post it before you tho.. Dont know who but you were right. Episode was really great
Mar 30, 2015 that was such a good episode. MORGAAAAAAAN carol is great glenn is basically avatar wan trying to save everyone the ending though morgan: "all life is precious" *rick shoots pete*
Mar 30, 2015 f---ing fantastic episode cons: Glenn escaping death (not mad that he didnt die but the convenience that he survived four walkers while we was injured on the floor off screen) The Sasha and the grave of zombies Pros: God f---ing d---... everything else btw that ending was straight out of the comics also, did y'all catch the ending credit scene?
Mar 30, 2015 It was such a tense moment as soon as rick executed Pete, and here comes Morgan with his love for life just like "..... Wtf?" I really feel that Morgan is a contrast to seriously how much Rick has changed, and they use him to show it. But I also feel Morgan's love for life can be more dangerous than needed, I mean look what happened to that red hooded guy, he was caught by the wolves. (reference to children story Little Red Riding Hood) also hence why Carol said they are children and children love stories. She has been on fire this season with the quotes and shi--ing on people. Her sarcastic deadly speeches are smooth. Come at me lol I also think Maggie has put her belief in God again, since she was praying with the Priest.
Mar 30, 2015 After seeing the finale...I think season 5 is far and away the best season so far. Still a few dumb moments, but it seems like they FINALLY have the balance between action and plot/character development down. This last episode was a perfect example of this. I don't think it was really that much of a cliffhanger (like last season when they were left in the boxcar not knowing who would live or die), but it set up next season quite nicely.
Mar 30, 2015 Shows never gonna be good enough on a technical level to stop having those r-----ed moments it always has, but if it can keep pulling from the source material appropriately and keep the plot exciting/interesting, I'll be a fan This season turned out to be the best one in a while Good enough for me to try and get my friends to pick it back up so I wasn't alone in my excitement lol
Mar 30, 2015 I was gonna say this was maybe the best season so far, but then I remembered that bs at the hospital with Beth.
Mar 30, 2015 What do you mean by "technical level" exactly? The problem for me has always been pacing issues/poor writing/killing off interesting characters before they have the chance to reach their potential. @Joshua Smoses I didn't think the hospital was bad. At the very least, they didn't dwell on it for an extra half season for no reason like the Governor storyline.
Mar 30, 2015 with no cure looming this show is gonna get even more repetitive. How many villains can they run in to? How many new people will they meet and realize that theyre evil? clearly the next villains are the wolves and theres gonna be lives lost when they encounter them. The season was good but how much longer can you watch them struggle and die with no cure to fight for?
Mar 30, 2015 That's not really why I think the show struggles, the idea is to watch how these people adapt and respond to this new world and it's new dangers. A cure isn't really needed. The problem is they struggle with showing the changes and effects that the environment and the characters choices have on them in a consistently high-quality manner.
Mar 30, 2015 But without some sort of "hope" whats the point of the show? I mean a new villain every season is getting really old. Season 1 was so good because you had some sort of "hope" with that doctor. I feel the writers/producers are just diluting the script to milk as much money as possible right now.
Mar 30, 2015 i just used that phrase to mean basically what you pointed out. Like things I would look for on a fundamental level regarding the writing, pacing, directing (at times,) etc aren't always there. The show as a whole, on any critical level, is always super hit or miss. But I dont think the show cares enough about that s--- to ever make major improvements in that regard...the best they can do is keep the show engaging and let their best actors shine
Mar 30, 2015 I just told you.. The point is to see how this new apocalyptic world has effected people and how different characters and groups have adapted to this new environment. It's at its core a character drama, not a zombie show.
Mar 30, 2015 The point of the show is exactly what @Joshua Smoses said—to depict how people react and adapt to all the depraved s--- that would go on during a post-apocalyptic scenario, to show how society would or wouldn't rebuild itslef, and to blur the lines of morality. I don't think the ending will involve a cure—probably will end with a lot of people dying, but some sort of glimmer of hope of rebuilding society to what it once was. But I think you're right that AMC is going to keep this s--- running as long as possible because it's such a huge money-maker. If S5 is anything to go by, I think they've got a few more solid seasons before it becomes s-----y. I didn't think season 1 was even all that good other than the pilot, honestly.
