I agree with you 100%, I feel like most of the time he gets his best features out of people like Yak Gotti and Lil Duke.
Older Thug projects didn't always have that many features...he's been having more and more over the years (and adding them after release, which usually makes the albums worse). They take up so much more time on his albums and feel much more tacked on than they used to.
SMF: 5/19 are solo
1017 Thug: 9/20 solo
B6: 6/13 solo
Slime Season: 14/18 solo
SS2: 17/22 solo
SS3: 7/8 solo
I'm Up: 2/9 solo
Jeffery: 5/10 solo
BTG 9/14 solo (until he added more unnecessary features, I still listen to the original version)
1017 Thug had Gucci at the helm and it felt like a true street mixtape, while Barter 6's features all feel natural (some are just the hook) and Thug still felt like the star of the album, taking up the most space. Same with BTG, some of the features are just hooks and/or BG vocals (until they added quavo and gunna features).
I remember I'm Up felt like a turning point because I was surprised at how many features there were and that trend continued to Jeffrey with having two needlessly long posse cuts (and making one even longer after the fact), then the additions to BTG and SMF. It starts to feel like it isn't Thug's show anymore. And even on a label/producer album that gives other artists time to shine, I still like it to feel like the label head is running the show whether that's Thug, Metro, Gucci, Mustard, Kanye, etc.Ordinary Joel, Rodamon, SHUDEYE and 1 other person like this. -

So Much Fun was not one off his best projects.
All the Slime seasons,Barter 6,BTG,I'm Up.Jeffrey were all better.
So Much Fun is very generic as well like this project.
Thug fell off after BTG. His last great song was Real in My Veins but that was an old recording i think. Same with High with Elton John.Packman, Ordinary Joel, dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl and 1 other person like this.Nov 18, 2025(This ad goes away when signing up) -

This def feels much more like a label album than SL1. Not necessarily a good or bad thing, just an observation. But in addition to london beats I'm definitely missing Thug going full weirdo.M.I.C., Ordinary Joel, SHUDEYE and 1 other person like this. -

Man, Young Thug really traded in his uniqueness for a mainstream flow. He's in my top 3 of all-time but his new stuff from SMF and on doesn't do it for me.
Also Wheezy has made the same beat over and over again since 2018 and they are ALL boring and bland. Like Young Thugs songs with London On Da Track from 2014 sounds 1000X better than what we get today.
So disappointed man...Ordinary Joel, Lil Squeed, Mikey and 1 other person like this. -

People in the comments saying Slime Language 2 but I feel like this cover looks more suited for Punk. SL2 probably more likely though.

I don't mind it as much for a label album like this or Revenge of the Dreamers III cuz it's already a compilation album...but in general I'm in agreement. Other than instances like Uzi/Em where it's clearly two separate albums, there's only a few instances like Wunna, My Turn, and PTSD where the deluxe is the definitive version. The rest is just stuff that should have stayed on the cutting room floor.Ordinary Joel, AvB and Lil Squeed like this.Nov 18, 2025(This ad goes away when signing up) -

This is called being deaf. But have fun with that. Thug fell off. I'mma let y'all enjoy mediocrity like y'all are known to on here. I don't cape for one n-----. You not gon' catch me out here lackin' like that. Speak for yourself. I'm not hating. I'm stating how I feel. n----- ain't impressed me since 2017, to be honest. You preserve the prerogative to retain the standard of whatever you prefer to keep in your listening library. I'd rather play "Whole Lotta Red" from front-to-back, a million times over. "AND" that album gets too much flack because it's actually flames. Thug's last 10 projects? EWWUGH! Hard Jay-Z Groan. Off that.Last edited: Apr 19, 2021JXY, Ordinary Joel and Mikey like this.
